Bear in mind, iPhones still have an Achilles' heel: batteries, which in my experience with all things electrical always pick the least convenient possible time to die. Pencil or pen and paper can't be mucked up by battery failure...

But a broken lead (or the running out of lead) is just as bad a muck up.

But at least i can get my pencil running again with a few quick cuts from my pocketknife... try that with a cellphone or iPhone. lol

I mean, technology's great, but it's a good idea to have a fallback option too.

At least 70's, maybe earlier! It made many appearances on Three's Company.

Oh, I know, I meant my own experiences with the little book of names and numbers were in the 80s and afterwards.
And the song I quoted is from the 60s. Seems like a 60s Playboy lifestyle kinda thing to have a little black, or red, book which was full of fantasy anyhow.
