Good movie. I saw it in the theatre. Should've had an intermission. If you get the large soda, and you are normal, you will have to pee before the end of the 3.5 hr movie is over.
just saw this post, hahahaha
good warning, thanks... I'll wait until the DVD release and watch at home!

In my opinion the costumer spray painted a 50s jacket to look less scuffed & dull. Otherwise yes, a common steerhide/horsehide ebay jacket by Sears/Ward/Grais/Lawrence etc

surprising there's no Leonardo di Caprio in it

Well no, this was a project that was specifically about getting DeNiro and Scorsese to do one last film together before one of them dies of old age. De Niro had spent years looking for the right story and this is what they landed on.

Was at a vintage shop today and saw these, one of which looks identical in design to De Niro’s jacket. The Sportclad is similar but not the same

Jeo, what town is the vintage shop? Glad to see it still has real vintage leather jackets. New York shops are out of them

It’s in Philly. The shop is called Briar vintage. You can find them on Etsy and Instagram

There’s good pickin’s in Philly, and some Amazing Barbacoa! We were lined up at 8:00 am for lamb tacos, but it was well worth it.

I like to think of my steerhide 1950s Windward as a black version of the brown De Niro jacket. Although mine is belted and has the piping across the top of the chest. Close, anyway.

I don’t think I’ve seen a clear shot of the back of De Niro’s jacket. Is it missing a belt, by chance?

I wasn't so convinced by De Niro's portrayal of the character as a kind of working man Joe Shmoe, I mean for a mass murderer. Great film though, up there with his best work in my opinion, just a slower pace and less flashy.

Pesci was great, but I started checking my watch as soon as Pacino appeared. Everything he does is the same for years now. I didn't believe any of these old farts as 30 year olds, either. They may have smoothed the wrinkles, but they still moved as stiffly as 70+ year old guys. De Niro is always watchable.
I thought it was a good movie hamstrung by using geriatric actors for their names and nostalgia power as gangsters.
