Does anyone know how to date a Macintosh raincoat, I presume the label design has altered a few times during the company's long history? HH
To which kind of coat do you refer? I think that the firm has not made the double-texture waterproof riding mac (see a thread on this started by Prof Branestawm) for more than 50 years. I once had a gabardine raincoat of theirs made in the 1970s whose label was red with white/cream lettering.

DOIN' THE LAMBETH WALK......OI !!!
Hello Hal.

The coat is the heavy, brown canvas, 'duster' style.
It is full/calf length, and is flared at the bottom.
The coat is rubberised and the label shows a cockerel in gold stiching on a black background.
There is also a seperate care label with red lettering printed onto a white background.
Best Regards
HH.

From your description I would suggest the second half of the 1950s. Does anyone else have any idea?
