A great velour that I couldn’t pass up. 5 1/2” open crown and a bound brim width of 3 3/8 measured after the pencil curl. Size is 57cm or 7 1/8 US. Marked Genuine Fur Guama on the sweatband and on the liner. I’ll be patient waiting for Steve @mayserwegener to tell me more.

That is quite the find, Brent. I found something similar in winered once. As Steve pointed out: intended for the south American market as well.

Selentino Galaxy in navy blue velour finish. Size is 62cm or 7 ¾ US. The raw edge brim is 2 ⅝” wide and the open crown is approximately 5 ½ inches. Great hand to the substantial felt. It will require steam to hold a shape.

Brent, Super! That is a great looking heavier weight Velour. I need to visit Tonak (again) in 2023.

Has anyone an idea, if the usual massmarket/storebrand traveller (felt) hats "waterproof" for 50 bucks could be made by Tonak?
I know Tonak makes some Fur Felt Flat Caps based on Fur Hat production methods. They would have made in Czech Republic / Czechia. They might have a Cap business too but not located in Tonak / Hückel Factory complex. Do the Caps have made in Czech Republic / Czechia?

Exactly. Both have none. The Wegener seemingly comes from a Berlin-located import company.

But all these 50 bucks felthats have the exact same shape.
There was a new company Wegener 1817 GmbH & Co. KG formed under Theresa Wegener in 2019. Wegener were only making Homburgs and Women's Felt Dressage Top Hats in the Lauterbach factory. Appears the the production side was sold to a Polish investor but that fell through and assets might have illegally been moved. This article is from November 2022 so no idea of the current situation.

This article from December 2022 states the everything was removed including production equipment. Appears to be criminal in nature.

Picked up two alpine-type Tonaks real cheap. Brown and grey.
I’m getting ready for Octoberfest, looks like.

So, it ends up “SRST” means “animal hair”, as in fur I suppose.
And “Kralici” means “Queen”
Here’s the labels under the lining.

Ooops, CORRECTION : Kralici means "rabbit". so, they're saying !00% rabbit fur.
The word for "queen" is something like "Kralovna" and of course the diacritical marks are absent here.
