Thank you for the info, I think that I am going to try a pair of the wedgies first though, so have you ever tried any of those?

The wedgies are comfy! I have the spectators and the Gloria's. And the pleated toe sandlas are very comfortable too!

i have two pairs of their wedgies. SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE!!! they're totally sexy, but low enough and supportive enough to wear through standing, walking, dancing. i can't say enough good things about those shoes.

i should also add that i'm one of those people with extremely sensitive feet. no suffering for fashion here! i have a problem with most heels, even my 2-inch dansko ones. so for me to be able to wear remix wedgies with abandon, that's saying a lot!

I was hoping to buy a pair before I went down, but do you think that they would be comfy enough to purchase at the show and start wearing while there? As the vendor will be there and that way I can try them on without having to worry about sizing and shipping and handling. Also thanks for the info.

i personally would try to get them beforehand so i could break them in. i don't think it's completely necessary, though. i think i danced in my picasso's the night i bought them, and i had worn my "twin strap slingback" wedgies all day that day.

In her case, it's a reference to the Andrews Sisters song, Shoo Shoo Baby, which has nothing to do with shoes, but rather saying goodbye to your sailor who is going to war.

I was thinking of asking my guy to get me a pair of Remix shoes for Valentine's day. I am looking at the wedges. Which pair do you think would go the farthest (style-wise) to wear with the average 40s day dresses?

I am considering:

(all of them...help me!)
I thought the Briarcliff would be a good casual shoe that good pair with pants too....

Mary Jane

I also like the 2 strap slingback and spectators...but probably not for my first pair. I want a pair that can become a 'staple'.

Yes, and after the first day they will be broken in. They conform to your feet rather quickly. The leather is nice and soft. I *heart* ReMix shoes.:D

I haven't seen the Briarcliff in person but I like the detail on the top. I felt like the Mary Janes covered up my feet too much around the ankle, so I opted for the Picasso -- if you want more coverage, the Mary Jane might be perfect.

Really, all the wedges are good casual options. Tell us which one you decide on!

Glad the post on the shoes was helpful--$20 is far better than $80, isn't it?

I'll surely wear the green shoes with other colors/outfits too--I was just excited that the color green seemed to match so exactly despite the 60 year difference between the dress and the shoes.

Can I ask about the fit of the green ones? I have wide feet. Love these green beauties and have just the thing to wear them with, but I don't want to fuss with retuning them if they dont fit well enough...

I have to agree with everyone else here about the comfort of Re-mix shoes. The vast majority of shoes hurt my feet (or fall right off of them -- I have very narrow feet), but not my Re-mix wedges. For reference, I have the "Gloria" ones. I wore them to a huge comic convention last summer where I had to walk across the world's biggest parking, up and down several flights of stairs -- not to mention the convention itself -- and my feet did not hurt at all! For me, that's practically a miracle.

IMHO, the Briarcliff looks sort of orthopedic in person. I liked the Mary Janes, but I also opted for the Picasso. And this was in the store, so I was able to try everything one first.

Okay, I think the Briarcliffs look a little orthopedic, too, but I was afraid to say so. lol I think I wanted to use the term "chunky". I still like the detail on top, though.

Completely agree on the orhtopedic look for the Briarcliff's..but I ahve a friend who has them and wears themto work all day and says they are very comfortable! I guess that ugly extra crepe sole is worthwhile!;)

If only they could make the same shoe without the extra crepe sole, I think it would look SO much better!

I ordered the style called GIna for my wedding shoes. They should be in by the end of the week. I really want "L'Amour" They are so cute and since I do a couple of events where I play european, perfect! Now I have to win the lottery!lol

I went through this very experience last spring! I ended up with the Picasso, and I couldn't be more pleased. They go with virtually everything and look interesting without being... "overly vintage," maybe? I wore them all the time, summer and fall. (It's just too cold right now.) By the way, all the wedges (except maybe the Briarcliffe? I need to check) are made on the same wedge base; it's just the uppers that vary, so the fit shouldn't be different.

And of course everything that's been said about comfort and breaking them in goes for me as well. No breaking in necessary!
