What book is it Isis?

Cute shoes by the way. I hope you can find some :)

Thanks Rue!

It's a Swedish book, unfortunately, as it's a great read- it talks about all aspects of womanhood, from beauty and clothes to child rearing. I do have a blog about my wardrobe building adventure, the link is at the bottom, Fashionable Forties and I talk about the book quite a bit and translate some of it.

Thank you! I'm sometimes afraid that I have taken on too much, but then it is a fun challenge to see if I can keep it up for four years.

I will poke some friends in the states to see if they can help me out. :)

I love my jelly wedges from Harajuku Lovers. They may not be your traditional vintage-y shoes, but I think they have a great vibe. Plus they are very comfortable and don't mind getting wet at the beach!

I wasn't sure where to ask this question, but my mom bought me two dresses from J Peterman and I'm having an issue trying to decide what kind of summery shoes to wear with each one. Do you girls have any ideas?
Please :D
Both are mid-calf.

This one is in cotton:

For the flower print one some deep lavander low wedges would be cute. Or flat sling backs of any color on the dress... Love that dress :p
Black is versatile! Any shoe would go well with it. Why not white for the sake of summer?

Thank you nosferaturoams!

I was thinking wedges would be cute too :)

As far as white... I don't think my feet need to look any bigger lol

I'm looking for shoes that have a forties look. I've found a few since I posted, but I can't make up my mind.....

Brown and white were actually more common than black and white up until the late fifties -- but either were worn with any kind of print. The socks would be the place to color-coordinate -- either a solid that picks up the color in the print, or something with stripes that echo the colors in the dress.

I had no idea! I have had my eye on some brown and white ones and you just made up my mind :)

Thank you Lizzie!
