Just found that Hush Puppies came out with a new collection called "1958". After scouring the internet, I finally managed to find a pair of off-white Basis in my size! Hopefully they'll be the perfect summer walking shoes.

I will probably wear them Friday night, with this dress

I'm glad they fit, and you look great with that dress/shoes combo! So many ways to wear those babies, I'm sure... Someone wants to donate me some money? LOL! Kidding :D

I wore them out tonight, dancing, with skinny black pants and a black tunic. I got lots of compliments, but wouldn't you know the heel cap came off! We were dancing salsa in a place with an old wooden floor, it must have caught on a crack. I did find it and fixed it right away with black duck tape the bartender had on hand. They are fun shoes, and are great to dance in, very comfortable, but I expected them to hold up better on a first wearing.

I've just bought them ready for the summer. Miss L Fire have some other great shoes out now, including these beauties with bunting!:

Aaaargh I LOVE both of these! Just asked my young man to buy me the bunting ones for my birthday, but I am finding it impossible to choose a colour! x

I have decided to get some spring/summer wedges. I lived in LA 7 years and never managed to get anything at ReMix, which is sort of maddening now that I am all the way in Spain. The L'Amour wedges seem really nice and have a great look, but I'd like to know if anyone has bought them, how they wear and if the cutouts cause any sort of toe hangout, which I hate to get in sandals. I also thought the Kate's from Rocket Originals are nice. I can get all the espadrilles I need here, but I would like something in leather. Thanks B

I have recently bought a pair of the Kates and they are pretty much comfortable for me straight off the bat, which is rare for me with shoes. They are absolutely gorgeous on, too, and the peeptoes are just that, a peep. I did have to change down one size, as they do run large (my toes kept getting stuck in the cutouts). If I had the dosh I'd get them in another colour. Oh, they're on sale at the moment and running low...

Aw, those are pretty! I've seen a few really cute wedges lately, but they're always so expensive :( Sigh. That's what I meant by "they'd be perfect if not for the height"!
Thanks for showing me these, I need to decide on a pair and order soon. Summer's coming! Might as well splurge on something comfy.

I have the other style of Bleyer wedges and they were really workhorses for me - I was wearing them literally everywhere (including for dance, ha!) until I wore them out (the tops, funnily enough - the soles were still in great shape). Have just ordered a replacement pair but it's going to take a few weeks apparently :(...

Been kind of on a shoe kick lately. I found the white and green pairs on ebay and the brown at Rack Room Shoes.

Black Dahlia, the white ones are Fayva? I have never heard of the company, the lister said they came from her Aunt's attic? They look pretty much new to me and it says they are made in Brazil.

Bellabella, I had my eye on those for about a month! They where re-listed a few times. I figured I would make them a "happy birthday to me" present. lol

Fayva had a chain of shoe stores, through the 70's. Similar to Payless, all the shoes were out on racks. A lot of them were made in Brazil, I remember the Brazil ones ran pretty small. It was a hard place to find your style in your size, the shoes were a bit random.
