I love links.
I like the double-sided links most, but I find the chain and bar type offers an attractive alternative, easier to find.
My first pair were Swank links, still have 'em.
To commemorate our first father son road trip, I recently gave me father a set of silver, chain & bar cufflinks made from the bakelite keys of an old broken typewrite we found on the side of the road. I pulled 4 keys and pocketed them. Now year later, he has a set and I have one, not matching, but pieces of the same old Smith Corona.
I have also taken old military buttons and fashioned them into double sided cuff-links that lock in the middle, then there is no worry whether they will fit through the button holes or not, only the hardware has to go through.
