I'm 99% sure I have posted these boots before since they are my favorites. Vintage Nocona boots (1960s) that I wear probably a little too much. These boots have been revived more than once and thought they were a goner each time. But when I look down, these boots (and my El Dorado boots) look the best to me and fit like a glove. Knowing they will eventually give-out on me one day, I have actually found two additional identical pairs in new condition (not as comfortable as these yet). I even found a similar pair in black.

My other vintage Noconas (duplicates not included) - black ones are second from left.

Good to see you, Robert. That's a classic pair but I don't remember you in a pair with a toe like that. Those look great and that's a recognizable Nocona stitch.

Under you fellas bad influence, over the last year I’ve gone from occasional boot wearer to almost every day. I got these Noconas a couple of months ago and had them half-soled. Now they are among my favorites.
I’m looking at a pair of Sante Fe Boot Co. sharks on eBay but don’t know anything about the company. Does anyone have any experience with them.

Glad to see you around here, Richard. Hell, a man from central Texas ought to be posting boots every day. I'm kidding, of course, just getting in on a cliche. Good looking boots.

I know nothing of Santa Fe boots.

I too am relatively new to cowboy boots and love the feel of them on my foot. However I cannot wear them if I am walking more than a few blocks. The wearing of them changes my gate and causes knee pain that I do not get when wearing footwear with lower heels. I keep trying thinking it is something I just need get used to but it ain't getting better. So it looks like I get to wear them only when standing around looking good!!!

It's something you need to get used to.
Or use some padded insole. I now can walk longer distances with my boots. Fitting also improved. My feet are not used to a hard surface as leather is.
I would wear them more if I wasn't afraid of scuffing them on a pallet at work.

@Winston Carter, I have one pair with them but the brand is Varese. Some call them sole savers. They work and don't change the profile of the boot nor the foot strike as you walk.
Bama, got them glued on and trimmed. It only cost $12 for the Master glue and Vibram half soles from..

I started putting padded insoles in all my boots years ago. Really makes a difference.
