Cowboy Boots

I have a pair of eagles all trimmed out in green that are unmarked & identical to a pair in the writeup on Buie featured in "Texas Boots". I always thought they were probably made under contract for her by TL. Reitzel always thought Judy Buie had a business relationship with Enid Justin, so depending on the timing they could be unmarked Noconas.
Sure would like to see those. Maybe have already, but you can't see stuff like that too many times

Same here, Dd. The unique thing about them to me is all the stitching above the eagle going all the way up to the collar. Often see an overplayed collar on eagle boots but don't think I've seen any quite like this.
Judy Buie grew up in TX. When she opened up her store in NY she flew to TX & ordered several hundred pair for stock. That is probably when she established a friendship with Enid Justin & depending on the timing the boots could have been made by TL or Nocona. No doubt Buie would have had Noconas later as that was the beginning of her friendship with Enid.

What a beautiful pair, and Paul Bonds! Congratulations! Leave it to Greg to spot a good boot.

They have been resoled. Bond never painted the soles as far as I know. My oldest pair are 1982's.

HJ, I thought the same thing after seeing the interior shot as they look like maybe they've seen a little wear but they are 40 years old. Those boots don't have a mark on the outside of them. I've never worn anything that needed resoling that didn't have some scuffing, even my most prized ones. Maybe Bond did that on his soles in the in the 70's? If not, they went somewhere other than a cobbler for a resole. Had to go to someone with a last to fit or Tulsa shoe re-builders. I still think original.
