The evidence was destroyed long ago! Scary part is I had the sweater vests to match!Pics or it didn't happen.
After watching about 45 min of CMA Fest on TV last night & now seeing these boots, we can officially conclude that "Country & cowboy" have gone to hell!
I'd rather hear about tie dyes and tassel loafers than what passes for country music these days.Tassel loafers, sweater vests, and tie dyed boots! This is going downhill fast!

My dad made his living as a country musician, playing steel guitar in one honky tonk band or another from the late forties through the mid sixties, and he raised me on Bob Wills and Hank Williams. I don't even recognize most of what passes for country music these days as country music. I can't imagine what he'd think of it.
I've probably posted these here before, but here's Dad's old Texas brand eagle peewees. He wore these on stage when he was playing music, and later on in the 70s and 80s wore them to plow the fields at my granddad's farm. It took a LOT of leather conditioner just to keep these from disintegrating. I credit (or blame) these for my own long time obsession with all things cowboy boot related.

Thanks manHonky Tonk is my favorite form of music, and almost all of my truly favorite songs include a steel guitar, unless they are acoustic or bluegrass songs.
I don’t even listen to the radio any more - the “country” stations just pi$$ me off. Luckily digital music and USB ports in newer vehicles make it easy to listen to my favorite “oldies”.
No boot pictures to offer, unfortunately, but your dad sounds like a guy I would have loved to have met!
Sounds like a cool dad that introduced you to great music and boots! So many of the new, so called country bands have neither a fiddle or steel guitar. It just ain't right!I'd rather hear about tie dyes and tassel loafers than what passes for country music these days.

Had to google that one, Cuz.What the hell is 'Bro Country' anyway?
Wish I hadn't.
Been quiet here of late, so....just saw this on Ebay, late Lama's, what, no heel counter? There actually looks to be an internal counter but still they look like the would not fit well, heel slipping and such...just looks incomplete.
This is probably out of order but what the hell.......in a forum on men's issues a fellow posted about being overly emotional since his son was born. He could not help himself bursting into tears every time a song about fathers and sons came on his country and western radio station. He wanted to know if this was a problem and if so how to stop. Men in all their brilliance provided him with great input BUT the best were the replies that succinctly told him to stop listening to country and western music.....problem solved!I'd rather hear about tie dyes and tassel loafers than what passes for country music these days.

Out of Greg Carmack's shop, a collaboration with leather artist Katie FioRito. No paints, all leather dye on the shaft panels. Unique scallops.
