I was watching that hat. The only reason I didn’t jump on it was because the first one was actually too large for me; a rare thing. Yours looks older and nicer.

I think your felt looks better. Mine was a more recent hat and the felt was marginal.

Harry Levinson’s was a nice mens/boys clothing store. I grew up in Indy, was born in Evansville and went to HS with the Levinsons that worked there. Small world.

Happy New Year to all! Thought to post some hats on the respective threads and revive them.

I figured this thread needed a bump after two years, so here is a Courtney 4 star. The overcast day that I took the photos didn't help convey the colour very well so I added at the end a photo of the hat on top of a 1940's Dobbs twenty in grey (silverbelly?)so you can see how dark it is. Open crown it appears to be about 5 1/2" and has a 2 5/8" bound brim. The grosgrain ribbon is a beautiful wine color, 2" black sweatband and I'm not sure about the reed, it appears that rust colored cord around the white bow inside is stitched down the seam of the sweat and possibly might be going around as a reed hard to tell, but I do see the end of that cord offset from the bottom of sweat seam.

The 'Weather Tested' button is interesting, I did peruse the Dalton thread the other day and saw one that was similar, but different on one of the hats.

Anyway, my guess is sometime in the 40's simply by the price point of $6 and Harry Levinson being a higher end store, but feel free to adjust my thinking.
