$140 is less than £100. Tell me where you can get a pair of highly-detailed, strongly-constructed, high-rise pants in a good quality durable fabric for less and I'll be all over them like a rash... ;)

British denim is a lingering interest of mine. No vintage pair of strides in this fabric in my size has emerged at the 'right' price/time as yet.

Cushman do something similar, but it ain't Brit.

That is well worth the money Baron. What a lovely suit, and being three peice as well.

If I had seen that I may have broken my 'No American suits' rule :D

Whew! Things are hottin' up in the suit market … Nice!

And an early birthday present to self: If i must drift above 30, i'll do it clad in Shaheen's hand screened silk. Hawaiian shirt buffs: Why the lack of interest in this 1956 Kokeshi Dolls shirt? A bit girly, perhaps? $50 seems a hell of a steal to me. What a design. Such whimsy! It has been getting an awful lot of attention from passers by.

Sweet black 30s suit on German Ebay

Pity this wasn't my size...

Really nice black German suit from the 1930's (seller stated 30's or 40's, but to my unexperienced eye this looks like a piece from the 30's rather than from the 40's) that went for just a tad over $75 (!). I wouldn't want to let someone take the scissors to it. Suits like this rarely ever seem to show up on the German 'bay, especially in what appears to be immaculate condition.

I wouldn't assume no-one asked. Quite often the sellers reply to the message in such a way that the reply doesn't appear in the listing. This has happened to me (gladly!) a few times. I hate it when my competitors get information they didn't ask for. I ask very specific questions, the answers to which will "give the game away" in a bad listing.

Call me greedy and overcompetitive. lol

A couple of amazing sales in the last couple of days:

That's happened with me as well. I just assumed it was a glitch in the system.

I don't know how they do it. But quite often i've received answers which didn't turn up in the listing. Possibly things have changed with the newer eBay messaging system.

I guess maybe if they're answering through their email account, and just hit "reply"??

When replying to a question, there is a box to check if you want it to appear in the auction.

The western jacket sold for what it should have. The two moth holes will cost $100 to repair, and a new lining will be another $50, so all in all about $300 to have a wearable jacket.

That western jacket is pretty cool, if the condition was better I bet it would've closed for a lot more. The sellers description is really funny, "could very well be a Nudie or Nathan Turk, but the label is missing" lol

Good point. I would feel the same way. You want to maybe phrase your question in a way that will get an answer without giving away why you ask.

On the other hand, since you are smaller size, when you ask about size, for something for yourself, you might phrase a question like this. "You say it is a size x. But can you please give me the measurements of the chest. If it is 20 inches across it is probably a size 38. I suggest you publish this to let buyers know."

My thinking is that if it is a true 36 short, you want as many people to know this as it is more likely someone will outbid you if they think that it is a size 40 or whatever. This would only work in a case such as yours where a size 38 is much more common than a 36. Of course, an unscrupulous seller may wish to leave it ambiguous in the hopes of taking advantage of a buyers ignorance.

Maybe I am overthinking it. Size 36es might be quite competitive, as how often do they come up?
