Label would suggest around that period. Maybe into the early 60s.

I thought it went for hundreds or something. Seems a bit much, but not much more than guys typically will pay for a new shirt, and probably only twenty five or so over what I would expect. Two bidders who like it iin particular is all it takes.

Yeah, whoever bought it paid too much. You can tell the shirt was worn and washed quite regularly. To me, it looks worn out, the graphics are faded, etc. It doesnt have that 'punch' factor. The seller usually carries stuff that just looks too tired, so I never bought from him. I would have paid $40 max.

Considering a set of deadstock 50s shirts just sold on ebay for $40-120, and all but one were in perfect condition....

This was one of the deadstock shirts on there. I won this one. when you look at the one that sold for $70 and this one, the difference is night and day. I think sometimes people see a wild graphic and it drives the price up, regardless of quality.

Yeah Id say that was 50s judging by collar size, horizontal buttonholes and the the fact that the label has 'sportswear' on it. The light silk fabric throws me though. Will be good for summer. I almost bid on this one, but the color wasnt quite right for me. Let me know the quality of this shirt. I bought a shirt from her and the description was a bit falsified.

I REALLY liked the palm tree and hut shirt. Amazing. I love novelty fabrics.

Ah thats a shame, you are missing out on some great nights, especially living in London.

Dj Nino and Lady Kamikaze and DJ Tim Hellzapoppin spin some seriously rare stuff, always people to dance with, burlesque shows etc.

A really great night is Diavolo Blues Club at Charlotte St. Blues off Goodge St tube. Free entry, Snakebone plays every week!

In the US, certainly. It was one of the standard patterns of "demob" suits. Very common from the middle 40s to early 50s in the UK. What was unusual about this one was its size.
