Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I had a lot of lovely comments at Goodwood Revival on Staurday but my favourite was from a 60-something woman as I was leaving. She was WRVS volunteer on the gate collecting used wristbands and she stopped me and said "You look so... so... REAL!" lol lol

This was my outfit:

This morning on the bus as I was trying to read I was very conscious that a little girl of about 5 who was sat in front of me with her mum was turned round and staring at me through the gap in the top of the chair. After a while she said 'Mama, mama...look!' So her mum turned round too. 'Look at her face, I like it,' and then she drew a line with her fingers over her mum's eyebrows and said 'I like these bits on her too!' A similar thing to this has happened to me before. It's amazing how really young children can pick up on the differences in hair and make up then what they are used to lol

a while ago i was one of the lucky winners in a drawing contest. when they announced the list, i was described as 'the always adorable annet'

unless it's old ladies saying i look good, or young kids chuckling, most people think i look 'cute'. it's probably because i'm young (21) and small and a bit shy...

It really is! I get children looking at me all the time and you can tell it's out of fascination and wonderment rather than "Look how weird she looks." With babies they seem to be excited by my bright red lipstick.

I look after a 4 year old boy on Thursday and today I slept in and didn't have time to do my make-up. He looked at me funny and said he likes me more when I have pretty sticks on my mouth.....I hope he meant my red lipstick lol

haha yeah my little brother always does that! whenever i say some old lady gave me a compliment again he just yells: "but when are you finally going to understand that it's a bad thing when you get compliments from THEM?? it means you look prudish and old!"

and then i say that i love them, because it means i remind them of how they were BEFORE THEY BECAME GRANNIES. he just goes silent after that.

Yeah I was wearing these black high-waisted pants with a sheer blouse and my brother called me a 'Cougar'

Ehm... first of all I'm 23.... and second: 'Whuuuuht? No!'

I think this phenomenon is worse when you are a man. One of the looks I like is the 1930s Sports jacket, Flannels, tie and jumper/pullover.

Being that men do not really change their style, most old men wear .... Sports jacket, Flannels, tie and jumper/pullover.

So, people do not think I am dressing in a 1930s style, but just like an old man! So, I tend to avoid this style unless I am off to a 'period' event.
