Colimbo makes cool stuff. I still have a G-1 jacket from this brand. From what I understand the Colimbo guy was also part of the original Real Mccoy from the 90s. He mainly does some military styles and some outdoors styles now. Only sold in Japan and maybe Korea but not abroad. High quality but not a common brand outside of Japan.

Here is my Colimbo G-1 in a reddish seal brown horsehide. I still prefer the Rainbow Country G-1 cutting better, but both are high quality jackets.

Someone else here claimed Colimbo is made in the same factory as Rainbow Country (and Freewheelers).

However, VLJ forum (apparently a source in Japan) says:“Colimbo is the low cost outlet/version of The Real McCoy‘s and mostly made in China but labeled ( and marketed via/ ) in Japan…( BTW this is also the case for BR since 2017 for all their goods and for some even earlier).
Greetings from Kyōto.”

I remember this. I also remember the BR part of it turning out to have been a rumor started by the owner of (modern) RMC lol, so I would take the poster with a grain of salt.

There's bad blood between RMC2 and all the companies affiliated with the original RMC.

anyone have any opinions on this Colimbo HD Cattle Driver jacket? Thinking of picking it up I found some photos of someone wearing it on instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/C3O_hk5vPLG/

The leather looks beautiful, but the jacket is oddly shaped.

This is a reproduction of a 1930s Sears Hercules half-belt. I think Aero's version (called the Original Hercules) is much nicer in its shape and details. The seal jerky is a leather of comparable color and thickness.

That is what caught my attention as well the leather looks amazing, such a versatile brown color. What do you find odd about the shape? I have only owned two leather jackets an aero dust bowl that I plan to sell(fit reason) and an older RMC, so still learning

The Colimbo take on the design seems to hang straight down, which in addition to being unflattering, isn't what this kind of jacket is supposed to fit like. (I have no problem with jackets with extra room or intentionally boxy cuts, but this seems like a boxy take on a neater fit, which doesn't really work.)

I thought at first it could be that the jacket on the model is simply not broken in, but the flat shot shows a similar shape (or lack of shape, I should say).

So I ended up picking it up guys. What do you think of the fit. If I were to nitpick I’m used to shorter jackets 23.5-24, and this one is 24 3/8, and maybe the sleeve a tiny bit long, 1cm less would be perfect? Other than that it is comfortable with a t shirt or real McCoy 10oz sweatshirt

sleeve and body length look good.

Sleeves look a little roomy, but it will probably improve with break in.

Think I broke my streak of questionable purchases with this A-1.

Aniline horsehide, nice grain and impressive workmanship throughout. The pattern is good looking too. It is thicker than your typical a-2 jacket split, but still very comfy. You can see one sleeve was from noticeably closer to the belly with more grain and softness.

To me it has a rainbow country feel, Moreso than my gladhand a1 which has a y2 feel.
