Think I broke my streak of questionable purchases with this A-1.

Aniline horsehide, nice grain and impressive workmanship throughout. The pattern is good looking too. It is thicker than your typical a-2 jacket split, but still very comfy. You can see one sleeve was from noticeably closer to the belly with more grain and softness.

To me it has a rainbow country feel, Moreso than my gladhand a1 which has a y2 feel.

Colimbo 1930s army Mackinaw coat.

Finally found one of these in a larger size. Sleeves are short and body is quite boxy. After wet stretching I wish there could be just a bit more sleeve length. I have Filson Macks and their sleeves are also on the shorter side. RMC, BR and bunch of other Japanese brands also makes this model. I only chose Colimbo because it was available for the budget I was looking at. I am not sure what the difference between brands would be, most likely the different wool. This Colimbo one uses a spongier woven wool. I have the BR Peacoat and that's more of a dense woven melton.

I always thought these coats were pretty cool. Good alternative to the four pockets cruisers from Filson.
