You bet that counts, rlk. Great score!

Well, I recently got a good deal on that wider brimmed optimo crown Supernatural I was always on the hunt for. Here it is, just in time for the Florida heat:

Well guys, my first Supernatural has arrived. It's a Cuenca, refinished by Optimo, and previously owned by one of our own. That's right, folks, I'm now the proud new owner of GWD's fantastic Cuenca! And I love it! Thanks, man!

Paid a visit to my favorite old-junk peddler yesterday. Scored this babe here for 10 bucks.

The body is in sound condition, as is the sweatband. The size is something like a 7 1/4 to a 7 3/8. One of these days I'll throw a pug on it and maybe flange the brim.

The days are getting longer. Pitchers and catchers report to training camp in a coupla-three weeks. Hope springs eternal, etc.

Thanks to Alan for unearthing this thread on the Post New Hats Here! thread. It's a shame how many threads get buried over time. My too nicest milans are both Supernaturals and I've posted pixs of them previously on the Milan Mania thread. I can say without hesitation these are 2 of my favorite hats. The quality can be seen and felt. My first:

And my second:

Glad you found it Alan!

Hey Mike, if you have that picture of my supernatural from the basement, I would love it if you share it here. Like I said before, I have a hard time posting pics.

WILCO Bob. This Supernatural belongs to Bob and I snapped some cellphone snaps because I liked it so much. Not the best camera or lighting but you get the idea. The pug! The weave! Supernatural!

Just ID'd this thread from a link posted by Alan - Thanks Alan. Wow, the Supernaturals posted on this thread are beautifully woven hats.

I would like to showcase my newly purchased vtg. Supernatural. It is a panama from Ecuadorian Panama Hat Co. It is marked Supernatural Tulcan Panama. The leather band notes it is made exclusively for Lewis and Thos. Saltz, Washington D.C. It is a gorgeous vintage panama. The leather sweatband is pristine and substantial. Excellent quality regardless of the age. The weave has the mesmerizing weave shown in other offerings on this thread.

I wish I knew more about the weaving process. I have been staring at the weave with the hat above my head backlit from the lights in my wardrobe. Wow, to hand weave this hat a craftsman spent some serious effort! Totally fascinating to contemplate. The large brim (nearly 3") does not bother (small) me. It will be a warm weather treasure. The blocked shape has an interesting and novel shape. I am have no motivation to change that. I received the hat with a bit wonky a brim and suspect that a shot of steam should tame the "beast." The hat, while marked my size, is a bit big. I am guessing with hat foam I should be able to get a fit.

I am honored to be able to provide a home and appreciate being able to wear this treasure.

Best, Eric -

Thanks Eric... not a milan - leghorn is a plaited straw weave from Tuscany. I also have a Supernatural panama similar to yours. It's the hat on the right in the picture below.
