Rebuilt Supernatural just back from Optimo

This needed a complete rebuild due to a botched attempt on my part. :eusa_doh: (live and learn).

Honestly I have no idea how old this hat is. The rebuild was $100.00 from Optimo which included a cleaning, re-blocking, new ribbon and new sweatband. It's a beautiful hat, although it's my wife's least favorite.

The brim isn't stiff and it will blow up in a good breeze.

Ha! Why just a few months ago she hated it when I wore a fedora to the mall, now both my daughters wear them and she borrows mine on occasion. She'll come around on the Optimo. To be honest with you, I haven't figured out what to wear it with yet.

As I sadly pack this one away for winter, here you go:

Front of the sweatband:

That brim is about 3 1/4". Note the sweat barrier behind the sweatband.

I do have another, finer Supernatural. But it went under a few
cars at a freeway offramp. I can't throw it out, but I can't bear to
look at it. Maybe I'll cannibalize it someday if another panama needs
a sweatband.

GWD, That Optimo looks just fine. JUst buy one for your wife and she'll be onboard. Hmmm...maybe she wants yours.

Hey GWD, that's funny about your wife. My girlfriend (of 15 years - wife enough ) hates my Optimo straw too. Now, I have to give her that the brim is too small and the taper from profile is bad news, but she hates any Optimo style she sees, even when they are great proportions like yours. I wonder if it's a "female thing" of some sort.

In any event, I'm continually on the lookout for one that I like as much as yours. I've bowed out of a couple auctions 'cuz the values go fairly high for good vintage ones.

Does it count if its Milan? I picked this up from about 2 miles away via ebay last weekend. Like new condition.
