Its been a while since I've shared anything, so here's my latest experience in leather world. Once I became a teenager I realized leather was the coolest superior material for men; even though I was a boy. I've always appreciated leather garments, jackets, shirts, boots, bags, ect. With jacket season coming upon us i set out to get a classic motorcycle jacket. I really didn't want to put an order in an wait until the end of December to get it, if i did custom order it would absolutely be a L.W. the jacket king imo. L.W. classic mc jacket is also made with a two piece bck so changing it to a 1 piece an added zippers it would be double the price and a couple month wait. So aninitially I started looking 2nd hand, e bay, sty, classifieds, fb, ect. I could have pulled the trigger on a few but decided to try an be patient because the available ones just wasn't going to meet the expectations. Im not trying to go round n round open boxes trying it on an becoming a regular at ups/usps ect. Especially not during holidays. Any way I looked through my archive of jacket pictures an realized the easiest motorcycle jacket to get, that would satisfy (bases on previous experience) was Schott. I haven't had any of schott regular line up jackets but their cxl jackets have always been dope. Great materials, good solid construction. And im a sucker for made in U.S.A.. Schott has a very cool unique history. They say that irvin schott was the first one to put a zipper in a jacket period. So after scrolling 6 hrs a day for a jacket I decided to just buy one new. The jacket shipped in 24hr. And showed up 48hr. Later. The weight is 8.7 lb with the content being a jacket an a hanger. After unboxing I was absolutely surprised. The stitching on this jacket is great an i didn't find any flaws. The p613s is horween cxl steerhide. It is a monster. The lining is 100%all black wool. Modern ideal zippers.

I am a big fan of Schott jackets for the history, craftsmanship and overall fit for me. Also, like you I seek out Made in America goods and Schott fills that need nicely. Awesome choice, Ihave a few Schotts the 118 and 141 styles in Naked Cowhide. Never handled a CXL version but looks substantial.

Beastly indeed!

How is it in comparison to your CXL Vanson Chopper?

I love supporting Schott because of their heritage for sure. I would suggest the gov. Put a number cap on the amount of goods that buissneses are allowed to get manufactured outside of the U.S. when they sell the goods to U.S. consumers. How about we work on strengthening the U.S. economy an provide jobs instead of making consumers rich because the average worker doesn't see any money that is saved from sending work elsewhere. The cxl from Schott is a great hide.

Beautiful jacket, did you bought directly from Schott website? Isn’t this model discontinued long time ago?

So the chopper went to Carlos. The chopper was horsehide. The 613s is steer. Im not sure what the chopper weighed, From handling both the leather is very similar. They are different patterns an fit different. Im more comfortable in the Schott, the measurements are a little bigger. As far as construction an stitching i swear the Schott wins. As I said I was surprised by the schott.

I considered buying one in the factory sale last year. It was less than half price IIRC.

I can take a look for you this year if you’d like.
Thanks brother! I might have to trouble you when the Schott sale time comes... Although it probably won't be this Perfecto one though. I was trying to break the 9 pound barrier, so I think I might go with Aero Ridley All State CXL steer with one inside pocket that be made with leather instead of moleskin. Not sure if Aero would do that but I would ask. I almost pulled the trigger for one a day after the sale ended but the sale code was still functional. I wavered and by afternoon the sale code was gone. It was the leather Gods sending me a message. Next time... Gonna sell some older jackets to make room in the mean time... Thanks again!
