Many of you know that I operate Cladrite Radio, a streaming radio "station" that features toe-tapping tunes from the 1920s, '30s, and '40s.

In an effort to provide a silver lining for the clouds of Hurricane Sandy, we're playing nothing but storm songs for the duration--rain, wind, you name it, we've got it.

Give a listen if you're riding out the rain and winds as we are here in NYC (or even if you're not).

The Sandy playlist was "on the air" a little longer than I intended, alas. We don't yet have power at home and I can't access the station controls at work (our overly cautious IT department blocks the site because of the streaming music).

We finally managed to return to normal programming yesterday.

I know that many of my fellow Loungers are Cladrite Radio listeners (and I thank you!), so I hope it's okay to mention here that we've currently got a kind of fund drive underway to raise the money for the renewal of our annual contract with Live365, our streaming provider.

I won't go into all the details except to say we have some premiums for those who contribute at various levels, but every dollar is appreciated.

I usually fund Cladrite Radio out of my own pocket -- it's a hobby, not a business (if it were the latter, it would be dismal failure!), but my wife and I have experienced some major financial hits of late, and I just can't fund it on my own.

If we don't reach the target, we'll either go "off the air" altogether, or we'll perhaps muddle through with a much smaller selection of recordings, but we hope to keep CR rolling in the fashion to which our listeners have become accustomed.
