I'm pretty happy about winning this one, and I hope it fits when it gets here. I just won this one on the 'bay this evening (sorry to any Loungers I may have outbid for it).

Churchill Ltd, 'Open Road' clone for Neiman Marcus, 2.5" brim, supposed to be unworn:

Any thoughts on dating it?

I like that

I was watching that and enumerating the reasons I didn't need it. I have almost the same hat in a Borsalino, twice. One has a 2 3/8" brim & one has a 2 5/8" brim, but I DO covet a 2 1/2" brim like this beauty!
That is a lovely score for a great price. What's more it looks unworn or near so. Churchill's were a fine hat, are you going to keep it in its current crease or do you plan to fedora-ise it?

Can't wait to see the pics . . .

I love the OR (and its various incarnations) . . . That Churchill is going to look great when you get it bashed to your liking.

I certainly will post some pics. It's supposed to ship out tomorrow according to the seller, so I ought to have it by the end of the week.

Gentleman Farmer, I appreciate your fondness for the cattleman bash. Despite the cows behind my house (not mine), I'm more an agrarian by sentiment than practice.

Another hat previously discussed on the forum was supposed to ship today. More on that later this week...

The Churchill has arrived. I won't have a chance to post pictures until tomorrow as I'm taking my lovely bride out this evening. The hat does seem to be in unworn condition.

It is very stiff, and quite powdery. I took it outside for a brushing and powder was going everywhere. The bash popped into open crown pretty easily, but I'm going to have to practice my fedora bashing skills. The brim is immovably stiff. I hope some steam will make it moveable, but won't have a chance to try anything until later.

Tips and suggestions are very welcome for this hat newbie.
