Can you help me date these brass candlesticks?

I bought these at an estate sale and love them! They are 14" tall and have lovely etching and ornate feet. I wondered if they had been electric lamps at one time? They both are hollow but one looks like a lot of wax dripped downward through the tiny hole. They have only tiny holes at the tops so a wire couldn't have gone through them, but perhaps someone added brass (is that even possible) to cover it up? I couldn't find any like them online and am wondering how old they are. I figured this would be the place to see if anyone can help me get to know what I now have displayed at the foot of my fireplace.

I'm absolutely no expert, but my WAG would be turn-of-the-century, 1890-1915. They were not electric; I think the hole may have been for a pin-like piece that held the candle. Does the other one have anything? The fact that they're brass and the foot design seems to suggest pre-WW I. Victorian'ish. I may be off by decades, but that's my guess.
