:arated:That is a really nice looking hat. Is that a fedora body or a western? I'm loving the pencil curl. Can you post a closer shot of the ribbon?

Mike, you and Rocky are killing me with these pencil curls.

Thank you. It's a western body. I like both, but I prefer the weight of western bodies. I'll try to get a close up of the ribbon soon.

Wait until you see the Navy blue hat western body we just did for Lando, it will ship out Monday going to him, its a great looking hat, he had us make this hat based from two famous movie hats, rolled into this hat.

I love this hat. It's hard to get a photo that really speaks to the fun of this hat to me, but it's pretty much all I was looking for. Some hats area serious and some hats try too hard to be cool, and some hats are just a smile and wink all the way to the end of the day. This is my smile and a wink. Navy 50x with a burgundy ribbon, that burgundy ribbon that seems to be able to alter any color to its bidding I swear. No hat color looks quite the same with a burgundy ribbon running across it, its uncanny. And the shape was inspired by a few different styles as Mr. Moore said. You got the Josey Wales brim curl, the John Wayne cavalry crown, and then just a bit of an upturn in the front like Dylon's Rolling Thunder Revue hat. It's big and fun and exactly the kind of hat I need some days.

Absolutely great work from Mr. Moore and the folks at Buckaroo Hatters. Never owned a Navy hat before and it seems now a shame I never have, but better late than never.

Still got another two to post proper finished pictures of, but I'll parse it out as I get them photoed. I was gonna wear something else today and then this beast came in the mail and winked at me and I couldn't resist.

I'm really diggin' this hat, Lando.

Timeless, you know.

If you like that one, then you make like this one since they are the same hat, just different colors lol.

Some styles you're just such a fan of you don't mind owning it in a few shades. This one's a Whiskey 50x and just a great all around hat. Buckaroo does consistent, good work and this hat will get a lot of wear. We love the special hats we own, but the more basic ones get all the wear because they go with more. Whiskey is a great color to have in your wardrobe and works well with this kind of hat.

WoW, Lando! No doubt those two hats are the work of a Major hatter. Really stunning! ;)

Planning my first Major Moore hat, I'll most likely end up with that whisky. It sure is beautiful! Thanks for showing

Wanted to share the hat I got Sunday at Buckaroo Hatters. Last year, I think it was November or so, I went to Mike and Rocky and got my first custom hat. Turned out to be a 2 1/4 brimmed bound edge Silverbelly, blocked like my Stetson Saxon, and with a complimenting ribbon with some blue thrown in. I always felt that I looked better in a dark hat, and the Silverbelly was sure to go with more. When I was there the second time, he, a lady from Kentucky and one or two of the ladies that sew his ribbon work were there on a Saturday and I tried on more hats, for grins and giggles, and kept coming back to a brown hat with a beige ribbon. Everyone said it was a good color on me, more so than the steel or the whisky I was looking at.

So Saturday, I was at a breakfast with a group of guys and they asked about the silverbelly hat. One guy, from Ripley, Tn, asked me where I got it. I told him if he wanted to go the next day, I'd meet him as I was thinking of getting myself a brown hat for Christmas. Mind you, I was just mulling it over in my mind. So we did meet at Buckaroo on Sunday around 1:30.

I noticed some Beaver brand hats Mike had gotten, and the new equipment also. I also saw some hats he did not readily have out before, more derbies, and then (and I hope he posts some pics, especially the one I almost got instead and may have him do the silverbelly that way) a distressed hat. Some lady was there at the same time and was trying on a brown hat with a matching brown ribbon with a wind trolley that Mike had distressed. I really like that hat.

Anyway, I was trying on some derbies and looking at fedoras and one hat stood out, because it was the brown with the beige ribbon treatment. However, it was a bigger brim then I had ever tried on and it had a pencil curl on it. It was also a bit more stiff all around then the super soft silverbelly. Well, tried it on and Mike, Rocky and the guy I had brought in all said it was me. Now mind you, I usually bought a hat that my wife would at least tolerate, and this was going to be out of my comfort zone. I was going back and forth on this shape or the one that was distressed that was also a silverbelly or so, and Mike really liked the brown one. Mind you, if you have ever talked to Mike, he will not bs you. He would just as soon not sell you a hat than have you get one that is wrong for you or that you don't love. So, it had a different break in the crown, and I liked the C Crown. I have had three compliments on it already. What I love is I got the red liner which sets it off nicely.

Anyway, it is a chocolate or dark brown, but I took photos to show the ribbon and how the brim curls. More upturned on the side and the back tends to go down rather than snapped up like a true fedora but hey, as Mike told me, this is my jeans and khaki hat which I can also dress it up a bit. I can always get it distressed and maybe he can show pics of the brown one he distressed and the other one that I may get him to do to my silverbelly.

That's a good looking hat sir. I would like to check out the Buckaroo shop one day, but sadly I'm pretty far away. That's probably good for my wallet though lol. It's good to hear that the shop experience was so good. Providing a great product and a great shop experience are an important and dwindling art. Wear in good health.

Thanks guys. I hope Mike can post a pic of the brown distressed hat I was looking at and the shorter brimmed one in silverbelly. I think Rocky said that someone in the movie 'Lawless" wore something like that? Anyway, the distressed hats are a neat look, and the brown one, looks like it could have been worn by someone years ago as a work hat and Mike scooped it up and put it on display. Pretty cool and some of the brim curls he has going on, well, that add a certain panache to the hat and I just dont see them anywhere else. Got two more compliments on the brown one last night just walking the dog in downtown Memphis.
