The wine colored, telescope crowned western appeals to me a lot. I tend to gravitate to that kind of hat personally. Super choice. The one that becomes you best, however, is the light gray fedora. It's just right.

I agree Alex, this one has a great c-crown.
And seeing it on you in person I have to say its the best fedora on you ever!
Enjoy them both friend!!!!

Thanks, Rusty :). I wish you the same with the new-and-improved "1912." It really looks sharp!

Great choices, Neo. They both look really good on you.

Thanks, Duck! We actually got to talking about you and some of your hats while we were there. I like that hat in your avatar as well!

Thanks, FMW. I gravitated to it as well. The light gray (Moorelite? Bucklite?) feels and looks incredible, and I'm even now getting used to the smaller brim. Both hats put a huge smile on my face :D.

Now all you need is a matching Deacons coat and some silk hankies and you'll be all set for the river boats.

Fabulous hats, Neo, both are great and give different looks, depending on your mood, etc. Looks like you had a great time. :D

I did! Not only did I get two hats when I expected to get none (at the time), both of which add to the variety of my arsenal and fill niches that I'd been wanting to fill for a while now, but I also met a real hatmaker and a fellow Lounge member. I also had one of the best hamburger steaks (with gravy, of course) I've ever had and got to watch a hatter at work. It was an all around great experience! Thanks for the compliments, too :).

Neo: you definitely have been bitten not by a bed bug but by a hat bug. I too have hat bugs. I am looking forward to seeing your next acquisition's. I know it's tough while you are in college, but you have the hat bug disease at an early age, so I am sure we will see more, even better, hats from you. Best Wishes.

Yea, but you had to put it with Rusty on the downside. It probably balanced out!!!!!!

I think Rusty may have him brain washed on the thin ribbon!!!!!! It was a joy to work with him at the shop this Sat, he was so kind to wait off and on during a record breaking day of hat sales, 10 were sold off the hat racks, 4 custom hats were picked up and 3 custom hat orders were taking and our newest friend got 2 hats.

I really did not like the way a Boss of The Plains looked on him, I liked the telescoping crown much better, hope that he will always feel welcome at the shop as I have told any and all that want to stop by, make yourself at home and enjoy the shop, sorry I am open only on the weekends. But most of my customers like that I am open on the weekends, because they can not always get to something like a hat shop during the week, and Sundays work really good for them.

Hope some time gtdean48 you can come up some weekend, and you can then find out what really happened that weekend Rusty came in and the warehouse story.

I'm hoping to Mike! Right now my sights are set on Garland, TX for that get-together but Memphis & Covington are on the list as well. Meanwhile, I have to settle for mail-order!
Looking forward to hearing that story!!!

Hey, that pure beaver lightweight had a wide ribbon!!! :D
Thanks so much for your help, I love this hat! It was a pleasure working with you.
I can't wait for the hat to finish adjusting to my head shape (or my head adjusting to the hat's shape lol), as it is prone to leaving a bit of a red mark high up on my forehead (covered up by my hair) lol.

With all the snow today, I had to layer up. I found that the hat pairs really well with my Outback Trading coat and fleece:

Hi Neo

O.K., on my home computer (very old), I hate the color of that hat. It looked like something a through back 1970's pimp would wear. My computer made it look like a bright Purple Maroon color. On my work computer, (a few years newer), it looks great. I like the crown shape, and the very slight dip in front of the brim. Great choice.

I guess I need to add my new outback/western to the mix. 3" brim, 5" crown, leather hat band with gray embroidery. Absolutely stunning. It became my favorite hat just as i got it out of the box.

FWM, being more of a fedora guy myself, I'm often not too impressed by leather bands, but that one is really great! It suits both you and the hat very well.
