I can do the open crown from 5" to 5 3/4" , I have #52 blocks and even have some strataliner blocks that are 5 1/2" tall, nor brims over 2 5/8" wide , would rather send open crown and you do you own crown shape.

Major Moore

The hat sounds interesting. A tall straight sided open crown at 5 3/4 would fit the bill nicely. Maybe even one with a thin ribbon as well. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on it.

I'm not really sure of the nomenclature, honestly. I bet you could just cite this hat if you wanted one similar.

Thanks for the above comments as well. I love that hat- made from a vintage hare felt.

I'm going to copy and paste my post from the new hats thread because I think it belongs equally here.

I received this hat today. It was almost a complete surprise, as I had a few days notice that it had been made and then shipped.

Mike Moore from Buckaroo Hatters is an incredible human being, and his business practices are exemplary.

Many months ago I began conversations with him about a custom western derby, and then I didn't follow up because my situation changed.

Mike recently found my order ticket, insisted he was at fault (he most certainly was not!) for keeping me waiting, and before I could say whiskey he had already made and shipped my hat!

What an incredible surprise! Mike is such a stand up guy with sincere and humble business practices, and I will most definitely continue to do business with him!

More photos coming!
Thanks Mike, not only for this welcome surprise, but for the always beautiful workmanship and details!

Bowler, Great Great hat. Love the sweep of the brim and what a great color and matching ribbon work. Mr. Moore continues the excellent quality work and business practices.

Jeff, I'm always amazed and slightly jealous that you can wear both a large hat and a bowler and look reasonably cool. I think I look goofy in anything under a 2.5 inch brim.

One of my next two hats will be Whiskey, but I'm going similar to John Wayne's Shootist hat. He's a hero AND he's probably the only hero I don't need to loose weight to look more like.
