Looks like a great time! I especially like the first pic of Ole with his new hat, photobombed by a dummy.

Well, don't shoot at the photographer. A week of Vegas protein-bombing has made me grow a foot or two. A rib-eye or porterhouse steak over here weighs more than an average Danish retriever dog! :D

Thanks guys, it's been an awesome day! I've met the most amazing bunch of people here in Covington. I carry around the note from a fortune cookie I was served Thursday evening in Vegas. It says: "Soon someone new in your life will become a very good friend". I never bought into that sort of predictions before, but it's impossible to dismiss anything so true! Those guys are so kind, you'll have to meet them in person to belive it. Have you never been to Buckaroo Hatters - go there!

The hat looks and feels great. It's an Oxblood pure beaver body, blocked on a #51. The brim was cut to 2-5/8", and the hat sports a black "Playboy-stitching" along the edge - and the most beautiful black mid-ribbon.

I ended up buying 2 straws, some pugs and a hat-hook too. I'm on my way out to eat with Mike and Ed, but I'll probably be back tomorrow with more pics :)

I have made it back home and just wanted to say how great the weekend was.
I was an honor and pleasure to meet Ole, he is a true gentleman and I hope he is able to make it back to the States again.!
it was also great to see Ed again, I enjoyed talking hats with him.

Looks like a good time was had by all. Interesting to see that the Vikings have graduated to somewhat more modern weapons too.

Finally got back home after 6 1/2 drive today always a wonderful time in Mike's shop. I was able to look thru a big box of puggaree hat bands that Mike had picked I think 20 of them. Great stuff and hard to find vintage patterns. Mike also had a box of panama open roads with the three air vent holes in the sides of the crown at a great price. An for those who love the Parbuntal Mike still has a couple of the vintage ones that where found at Winchester after sitting on a shelf for 60 years Ole picked one up so there two left in 7 1/4. Wonderful hat I love mine. So call down there an pick them up.
Thank you Mike,Rocky and also Rusty for showing me and my friend Ole a great time I had trouble sleeping after talking hats till 10:30 Saturday night.

Buckaroo did some rebuilds for me that came out very nice and I wanted to share. Nothing out of the world, just bands, brims, and crowns. But they did a great job and I'll get a long time out of these hats. It's good to show off the new hats, but it's also important to show off the rebuilds since it proves the worth of buying a good hat. Good hats can be rebuilt for years and years of wear and every time you fix them up you can change them around and essentially make out with a new hat. These were all cattlemen style stock hats before I sent them in to give you some idea of the change. They have telescopic crowns now, my favorite, pencil rolled brims with binding, and new hatbands.

As ever, very pleased with Buckaroo and their skilled work.
