Brooks Brothers English fedora

This is a wonderful hat that I don't wear often enough. Made in England for Brooks Brothers, the construction is exceptional. Felt is firm and dense. The original Brooks Brothers box (in very good condition - included) shows the delivery tag - no date, unfortunately but the two digit postal code was in use between 1943 and 1963. Condition is like new, with the exception of a light staining on the liner which is transfer from the oilskin barrier behind the sweatband. Crown of the liner has paper protector.

Crown, as creased - 5"
Brim - 2 1/8"
Black ribbon - 2"
Size 7 - not sure if this is U.K. or British. Head opening measures 7 3/4 x 6 3/8". A good fit on my 22 1/8 head.

$135 via Paypal includes packaging and shipping in the continental U.S.

alanfgag: Just curious, do you see much vintage clothes from Kleinhan's in Buffalo any more? I believe I have a nice vintage tie that has their label. I remember when Kleinhan's was THE mens clothing store in Buffalo, and the building is still one of the nicest archutectural fossils in downtown Buffalo. (It is still there, isn't it???) That and A M & A's.

Kleinhans was big as Buffalo was once big. You do see vintage stuff around town here and quite a bit on ebay that has migrated. I believe we will see a very nice Borsalino Rex with Kleinhans stamp in the hat forum once it is received by the lounger who won it a few days ago.

The Brisbane Building is still a downtown office destination and the old Lafayette Hotel next door is in the midst of a major renovation.

I would have gone for it had I seen it... ugh. :D

Figures, when I'm not paying attention, the good stuff goes. I'm going to keep an eye out for your items a bit more closely since you seem to have the only hats that are my size, and certainly ones that are very top notch.

Sorry you missed this one m0nk. The nice western in my signature is still up. It has lovely felt and dimensions well suited for someone who likes a western smaller than 10 gallons. It may wind up being a nice bargain.
