View attachment 643427 I think I unzipped this chest pocket zip about 15 times and it broke. Can anyone suggest a repair or replacement in the same style?
Thank you,
Yeah. I emailed the seller from Japan and he said the “breast pocket” was for decoration and should not be used….and to handle the zipper with care.Indeed, it is better not to touch it once again.

It depends on how you handle the ball & chain zipper. It should never be pulled by the chain, but always by the attachment.Yeah. I emailed the seller from Japan and he said the “breast pocket” was for decoration and should not be used….and to handle the zipper with care.

Thanks. I had no idea the little spheres could be opened by spreading them at their seams. The repair job is awesome. Thanks for posting I am gonna do the same to mine fixes.
The customer service is awful...
I would still use the chest pocket despite the failing zipper. Which jacket is this, the Hercules or the Speedster or Highwayman?
Interesting. Thanks for the comment. We put a man on the moon in the 60’s but a ball and chain zipper pull on a $2000 jacket has less strength than the pull chain on a ceiling fan. Crazy right?!My Thedi came with those exact instructions attached to the zipper
Good point. What would it best be used for besides looks? An ID/passport?You guys use that pocket? For what?
Del suggested the same when I posed this inquiry. It depends on how you handle the ball & chain zipper. It should never be pulled by the chain, but always by the attachment.
The quality of these repro's doesn't come close to the quality of the originals from the 30s.
Let me ask a question, would you purchase a 2k Japanese repro that uses ykk zippers?
