Borsalino made an Open Road clone?

I was just surfing our collective favorite auction site and found two Borsalinos that appear to be Open Road clones. They're listed using the terms "Borsalino Cowboy Western", and they're both size 7 1/2. Interesting that the same seller turned up two of them.

Might be of interest to those with larger hat sizes, donchathink?

Borsalino Allessandria

That's yer basic Borsalino Allessandria- can be bought on-line from several sources.
It's there only 'straight-crowned' hat and can be purchased 'open crown'.

The eBay examples look like older examples but the hat is still the same style.
I have '40s one in the beige colour and yes, they are Open Road-ish.

I know that larger sizes like 7 1/2 hats don't pop up every day...that's one reason I brought it up.

As to the rarity of large hats appearing on fleabay, couldn't one get a size smaller, like a 7 1/4 and streeeeettccch it up to a 7 3/8, or a 7 3/8 to a 7 1/2?

I won a hat months ago that was a 7 3/8 US - whereas I thought it was 7 3/8 UK. It was a wee bit snug at first, but frequent wearing has stretch it so that it now fits very nicely.

More Borsalinos

On EBay at - 1001pc - there are several Borsalinos for sale (they are too small for me. I need a 7.5). It will be necessary for you to sort through a whole bunch of pins and stuff but, as I recall, there are three hats in there – one is on page 59. Oh, one other thing, I bought an item from these folks just recently, they were asking 180 dollars for the item, but would accept offers. I offered fifty dollars and got the item. No, my item hasn’t been delivered yet, but with a happiness score like they have, am I worried?
