I've only had one in my hands; it was a 60s vintage and not up to the snuff the older ones seem to be.

Bond's was a chain of men's clothing stores. They were known for affordability. I remember the store we used to pass on the way to picking my Mom up on Thursday nights when she worked late at Ohrbach's. I believe it was on 34th Street at Fifth Ave.
