I am expanding my mind lately and attended the Blues festival in Ft. Smith this weekend. Attended the Jazz Festival sometime back also. :D My ? is to FLers who attend them often and different places.
To be honest there was not a whole lot of what I consider Blues. More rock and roll. [huh]
I enjoyed it all and there was even a double rainbow which was fabulous after getting rained on off and on but is this just this particular area or is it like this other Blues Festivals.

I am also noticing something odd lately. Even on the radio and such songs are getting so much shorter. Is this less song for the buck or something? To charge for downloads or something. Maybe just my imagination.

The only Blues festival I have been to is the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Byron Bay in Northern NSW. Because of the "& Roots" bit they include a lot of stuff in the lineup that isn't strictly Blues, but I have always had an amazing time there. I discovered Tony Joe White at Blues Fest!

I have attened the Indy Jazzfest, in the great state of Indiana, a couple times. I enjoyed the blues stage very much and it had several well known artists. I had a change to see Ray Charles before we lost him. I believe it depends on the funding and the economy as to who they get. If they are running low on funds they might pick up a couple acts that aren't as blues/jazz as on might think. :eusa_doh:

That's probably the case. That and competition with other festivals for talent, particularly in the summer months. Also established festivals like Chicago's will draw the cream of the crop, leaving others scrounging for talent.
