I don't get your drift. They're attending a summit located in a tourist area with a hot, humid climate. Why shouldn't he be as comfortable as the others? Now if both Presidents were wearing business suits, I might understand, but as far as I'm concerned they're simply wearing what would be comfortable for them if they were visiting as private citizens. Actually more so, at least they weren't wearing t-shirts, cutoffs and flip flops like the usual gringo touristas probably wear!

I don't think there's anything wrong with the way GWB and VF are dressed, given the context and the climate. It's Stephen Harper I object to (in this case it is primarily his sartorial state that I object to, but I don't like anything else about the guy either).

I'm not suggesting that he wear a suit, but the vest is really just freaking hideous. If he was fishing, then cool, wear a fishing vest, but he is not fishing. If he was in a war zone, then fine, wear a flak jacket, but Cancun is not a war zone. The vest is worn only to hide his gigantic gut and man-boobs. It is a pathetically unaesthetic exercise in vanity. *barf*
