A drink, a sailor and the perfect red lipstick.
Who else is jealous???? ;)

Looks really good on you, especially with the high contrast of your complexion and your hair/eyes. Definitely tempted to buy this one. Noir Red is officially on the wish list! Thanks!

Aw, thank you! Yes, thats my guy, Don, in the Titanic hat...heehee.

And I do think the color looks a bit darker on than that photo shows- although either way, its STILL a great red! I ordered the Carmine and Cherry Red also...a festival of reds to try out!! :)

I spent most of this evening going through this thread and the favorite red lipstick thread. After hours of indecision, I finally placed an order. Yahoo!

Besame'
Porcelain Powder (and a refill)
Raspberry Rouge
Red/Cerise Lip Pencil
Noir Red
Cherry Red
Merlot

I had the Red Velvet set in my cart because one pic made it appear more of a blue red, but another here showed it as more of a warm, true red which is how Besame' describes it as well. I wanted to stick with more of the blue reds. I thought about getting one of their glosses, but I figured I'd pinch pennies there and stick with my drug store finds. :) Hopefully, by the time they arrive, I'll have figured out what's wrong with my camera...although you all seem pretty educated on these colors already! ;)

You'll have to post photos of you wearing the colors when they arrive! I'm curious, too!

I've loved every besame shade that I've ordered. They don't look clown-like on me at all which used to be a big problem with nearly every red I've tried. Red Velvet is by far my favorite and I think the most versatile, wearable red they offer. I also have Besame Red, Cherry Red, Red Hot Red, Noir Red and a sample of Merlot. I have extremely fair skin with slight yellow tones and they all work well. It all depends on my mood or what look I'm going for.

I'll do what I can provided you all understand I'm a "work in progress", lol. (Some days, I think I should qualify for federal disaster funding. ;) )

Besame' Girls, keep an eye on the site as I think they are gearing up for a holiday scarf promotion. I really don't know the details but had a little hint in an email.

Jenniferose...You may tempt me into getting the Red Velvet afterall! I'm also very fair but have neutral to pink undertones. I prefer cooler colors but if an outfit warrants warmer toned cosmetics I can usually coordinate well enough to pull it off. I guess it's the one benefit of being "pastey white". :D

If I like the pressed powder, I may order 3 more as Christmas gifts for my cousins and if the Velvet Red slips into the cart for me...oh well. ;)

Cashmere Powder

Anyone care to review the Cashmere Powder Compact? I am thinking of getting it. Is it worth the money? ($38) Anyone know what the ingredients are?

confused by difference btwn US and UK

Hey girls,

Ok, so I am a little confused: some of you have been talking about specific colours and even talking about their foundation and I cannot find any of that on their website.

However, I went to an online UK shop and all the colours you all mentioned were there, plus the foundation.

Why the difference btwn the US and the UK?

Mary

I have it, and it's nice, but I prefer my Caron powder compact! I think it was a few dollars less as well, and I probably got more product with the Caron.

MaryMary -- Besame discontinued a lot of their original products, so that may be why you're not finding them on their official site, though other online retailers may still have them.

I wish there was a way to cross reference MAC foundation shades to Besames. I'm NC20 and I'm thinking I might be light? Or possibly medium? I inquired about it and was informed that they'll be offering foundation samples in a few weeks! :) I've been enjoying some lipstick samples but I'm anxious to try more!! Especially since I'm in the market for a new foundation soon!

I followed a link someone posted awhile back about 40's cosmetics, etc. and I wound up finding a class to take in Los Angeles that uses Bessame cosmetics, I believe. They also teach how to do 40's hairstyles and suggest you bring a photo along of the style you want them to teach you. I'm going on May 7th and wondered if anyone else in the lounge is taking that class or has taken it in the past? I think they will probably have the samples there and I'm excited to see them!
Ooh that sounds interesting! Is there a name or something i could look up? I'd love to go!

Today I received my very first order from Besame. I got the sweetheart balm (sweet rose...anyone else reminded of fruit loops?) & 2 lipsticks (red hot red & cherry red). Oh...my....gosh....they're packaging is so freaking adorable!!! I know I'll end up saving the boxes they come in. And I know its been said many times before but I don't think you can fully grasp it until you have them in your own 2 hands! I'm very excited to start using them and it seems a real shame that I don't have a proper vanity to display them on. lol

Keep in mind that it's all very highly pigmented so it lasts longer. I wear the cherry red lipstick every day and a single tube has lasted me just over a year.
