And now some tweeds. Ain't they purty?

A suit from 1949 that someone got married in. A beautiful diagonal tweed in brown and cream (American):

This is unique, I once had a Stefano Ricci knit shirt with a similar pattern, in brown.

Two more...
First one: 1940's german peacoat: Interesting story behind this one.

Second one: I believe it to be an early 50's suit...Not quite sure on that tho.

DEFINATELY not a peacoat. ;)

a peacoat is a double breasted short overcoat that come from naval use originally (usually navy blue with metal buttons).
yours is a belt-back sports jacket. looks to be late 40s/early 50s. very nice fabric. looks like harris tweed.

It's a german coat from the 40's that a seamstress made for her husband...Very nice fabric indeed. Thank you for straightening things out for me HBK :)

I only thought it was a peacoat because the seller called it a peacoat...lol

Or go really old school and wear long under-drawers.
Isn't that what long johns are? [huh]
.

Whoops, missed this one. No, I'm talking the pre-union-suit underdrawers, made from woven cotton or linen. They're roughly comparable to pajama pants. Not unlike having a separate lining for your trousers.
