It was sold to me as made in 1962. this one shows some wear but it is in pretty good condition. they are both the same Brim is 3 1/2" and the crown is 5 1/2" .that is all I know about them. Any information about these would be appreciated. Leo

The hat @Garrett posted above is now mine. Don't have to post the auction pics anymore, but here are my own.
Barbisio in a size 57 (it's a bit roomy for me). Can't tell you the colour name, because there are no labels at all inside the hat. Overwelt edge at 6,5cm and crown at 11,5cm at the center dent. It's a substantial hat. I think it's later than the thirties, but that's just based on the liner, which I think is a later style for Barbisio. The felt has a nice hand and takes any shape you want with no effort at all. Barbisio at the top of its game.

Super Barbisio Extra lusso in a size 59 (USA 7 3/8; UK 7 1/4)
ienwac.jpg

The hat arrived in nice conditions, but I want it perfect so it was carefully restore in Netherland by Penumbra hats
It is a hat that worth a restoration
2ef6wzr.jpg

The color felt is "Libia" and finish, short fur, is "Taupé"
5uelqo.jpg

Edged brim at 5,5cm and crown at 11 cm at the center dent with a contrasting ribbon
2mo8tpj.jpg

I think it's early sixties hat, just based on the liner that was the same in the fifties. I have some interesting information from the seller
20tp4xk.jpg

Lining is really elegant and it was one of the top of its game
111r137.jpg

The felt has a "peachy" touch and takes any shape you want with no effort at all
2j4tzfb.jpg

Expendable with a good offer;)

Very nice and looks like almost mint condition; what has to be restored?

Georg, the Barbisio needed a refresh. The sweatband had to be fixed, as well as the felt and the ribbon. Considering the quality of the Super Barbisio I decided for its complete restoration and cleaning. The result was magnificent, thanks to the qualities of Fleur from Penumbra Hats in the Netherlands. In the next few days I will put online other Borsalino restorations and other brands, after having long thought about what was worth working. This is one of the dilemmas that often happens when you have used hats in hand, I wrote something a few days ago about the quality of the Borsalino, but I'll be back in the next few days about this topic

Beautiful hat, Daniele, and by the looks of it indeed worthy of a refurbishment.

If there were ever a hat destined to be mine, this one is it. This is a Barbisio "Piemonte". It is a gray, long-hair fedora. I really like long-hairs so that's a check. It was marked a size 7 and I'm a 7 1/8. As you can tell by the pictures, it is a 7 1/8th. One of my best friends in the world lives in Piemonte. Finally, when I got the hat, the initials in it were A. H. Those are my initials. And this is my first Barbisio ever. Ever. The pictures aren't great, but here they are. Looks 50s.

Looks like a wonderful hat, Adrian. Once you get a taste for Barbisio you'll want more of them. Congrats.

Sometimes, rarely, even some old hat is my size

"Lobbia" Barbisio REX size 59, black felt
View attachment 184449
Sold in Berlin at the Max Eckard store
View attachment 184450
The interest for this Barbisio is the fact that inside the sweat band there is stamped the origin of the skin: Paris - France and a date that I cannot decipher the month and day, but the year is 1939 (for a clear picture I have to use professional equipment)
View attachment 184451
The felt is very soft and silky, in its composition there is fur and also wool
View attachment 184452
These are the dimensions: 5.5 curled brims, 14 cm open crown. the finishes are first class
View attachment 184453
A eighty years old hat from Sagliano Micca will worth some thrilling in delivery
Another piece of the Barbisio puzzle

A memory of the Italian fifties
barbisio-silice-4-r-jpg.189640

Barbisio "Silice" in size 59 or 7 3/8 US.

Telescopic shape and back bow. This kind of hats were called "Mambo" in Italy
barbisio-silice-1-2-r-jpg.189642

This arrived, quite new, with some brothers that now lives in the Netherlands
barbisio-silice-interno-jpg.189643

The felt has a very nice touch. The dimensions are: raw brim at 6 cm. and low crown at 10 cm. the ribbon is 4 cm.
barbisio-silice-5-r-jpg.189644

This is one of my favourite shade of grey made by Barbisio in the its heyday of production and the finishes are first class

So, for lovers of Barbisio and Italian hats, here is a rare specimen, even if the most spectacular one in this category lives in Stefan's house

Another fine example of Barbisio versatility, Daniele. And their finishing is indeed second to none.
