A few years ago, in a cold winter, I visited the shop of the "Cappellificio Cervo" in Sagliano Micca. It was a visit in the past high-class Italian hats production. On the road there is the great writing of the complex of buildings that belonged to Barbisio and after about four hundred meters an example of industrial archeology, Il "Cappellificio Cervo". Mi research at the outlet has been meticulously long to look for some quality hat. Some Barbisio and Cervo of the historical production were there, but they were small sizes and the rest consisted of samples.

This is my favourite of the bunch. Barbisio old-new stock bought at Barbisio showroom some years ago. Size 59. Fits me well

Very soft and malleable felt, finish is a short lovely hair. Color is honey

Proportions are: raw brim at 5 cm. crown at 11 cm. ribbon 2 cm.

Tha hat is completely unlined with a sweatband in the same color of the hat. It was a sample of this excellent felt made for a client and never put in production.

The hats is very confortable and more for a head a tad thin then mine, for this reason is slightly used

A lovely felt and another example of Barbisios' versatility. I only wish they had made a homburg with that felt (and in my size)

Barbisio size 5 or 57 cm. done in the historic factory of Sagliano Micca, before 1980

The felt has a finish with short hair, very soft and malleable

The hat is garnished with a dark brown ribbon and the brims are edged of the same ribbon

The hat is very classic for Italian canons of about forty years ago.
The proportions are: brim to 5 cm., Crown to 12 cm. and 3 cm tape

The color is "Daino" and the finish of the felt is "Talpa"

The hat has arrived, along with others, in good consitions, but a measure too narrow for my head

Once the dust was removed, cleaned and put in contact with the steam, he highlighted his fantastic felt.

It has dense thin felt and while it’s a bit smaller of brim than I normally prefer it’s a nice addition to my collection and my first Barbisio. Thank you Stefan!

I gave it a simple center dent crease and found the felt malleable and willing to take any shape.

That is a great one Brent. You will find that these European hats just cry for a center dent on a regular basis. This one has nice lines.

Brent this is a great hat. Barbisio makes a great hat. Don’t know if you have others. In some aspects they equal or maybe rival the Borsalinos we see so often.
I could not comment on this hat in the other thread cause well, the mood was different. WAY different.

You need to make it your own, Brent. A bit of steaming and shaping and you'll see. Barbisio can certainly rival with their better known countrymen.

I am behind in posting my new Stefan hats in their specific threads. This Barbisio does not have a model name, just a color "Brera". Great dimensions, although a little taper in the crown. Nice brim width. The felt is what is so incredible about this hat...soft as a pup! Takes an organic pinch with ease, never looks the same each time I grab it. The color is on the gray side, but it is a shape shifter. Like most of my Italian hats, it is on the snug side for a 58cm, but with my hat former it is coming around.

I think it's a very good looking hat. Not Barbisio at its best perhaps, but still great quality.
