Grey Aristocrat Barbisio

This is the first of Aristocrat Barbisio series I bought

As clearly stated on the sweatband this trade mark Aristocrat is a under mark o second level of Barbisio

I do not have enough information to explain how this hat and others in my possession were intended to represent the second level of a brand like Barbisio.

The hat has some magnificent finishes and the felt is in the best tradition of Barbisio

Size is 57, crown at 12 cm. (4.75 inches) and raw brim at 5.5 cm. (2.17 inches)
Flet is medium thnickness and pliable without steam, black ribbon is 4 cm. (1.60 inches) with an elegant bow.

Lined and very well finished. Color is "Sesia", a river in Piedmont

Very classic Barbisio hat with a splendid shade of grey

I wonder why this and some others Aristocrat are second level of Barbisio.....they are better than some Barbisio I have from the same period.
I suspect it was a "little war" between the Italians hats makers to be in the sixty-seventies present in every hat shop without infrigiments of the exclusive

Second Aristocrat Barbisio from Pisapia store in Taranto - Apulia

Size is 58, crown at 11 cm. (4.35 inches) and raw brim at 5 cm. (2 inches)

Felt is medium, with steam the modelling of crown is better, brown ribbon is 4 cm. (1.60 inches) with a particular bow

New Old Stock the hat has a white linen and an excellent sweatband

Barbisio and hat shop stamps

The color is "Urbino" one of the most beautiful town in the centre of Italy

The felt has a very interesting color, it is a dapple tone of brown

A very classy Italian hat

Are you saying there is a quality difference between Barbisio Aristocrats? I have a few late 1960s / 1970s Barbisio Aristocrats and they are fantastic. They were popular in Germany during that time period.

Steve I agree with you Aristocrat are at the same level of Barbisio, sometimes better.
I wonder why they are called a second level (from the stamp on the sweatband) quality in Barbisio production?
I suspect this was a ruse to enter the market with branded products in any other way and not hurting some other Italian manufacturer.
There was an agreement in principle between the Triad (Borsalino, Barbisio, Panizza) to not be at war in the European Union.
This of Barbisio called Aristocrat seems a clear example.
They are really excellent example of Italian hatters production.

I would guess the Aristocrat line was just a higher price point Barbisio. Similar to Lexus line made by Toyota. I know in Germany they (same with Panizza) were fighting for sales against Borsalino who were the import kings (never challenged).

Aristocrat Barbisio Green

Third Aristocrat Barbisio in green from hat store Pisapia in Taranto - Apulia

Size is 58, crown at 12 cm. (4.75 inches) and overwelt brim at 5 cm. (2 inches)

Medium fur felt with suede finish, very easy to crease without steam, brown ribbon is 3.5 cm. (1 3/8 inches) with a simple bow

NOS the hat has a green linen with all the interior coordinated in shades of green

Barbisio stamp on sweatband is in English and mark in the linen is made (IMO) for exportation

"Brescia" is the name of color. First town west of Verona in Lombardia

The color is a very beautiful tonality of green

A good find in this condition for a classic Italian hat by Barbisio

Recent SuperBarbisio in blue-grey

Super Barbisio Extra Lusso from a closed hat store in Copparo - Ferrara

Size is 58, crown at 11 cm. and overwelt brim at 6 cm.

Soft fur felt (heather) with short brim, very easy to crease without steam, contrasting ribbon grey the bound brim and black with golden logo on the bow

NOS with tag the hat has a white lining with the the "new" barbisio brand in golden and red

Barbisio stamp on sweatband. The label said it was made in 2008. Cappellificio Cervo was the maker

The color is a fantastic tonality of blue and grey. It depends from the light

An high end Barbisio very weel made with astonishing felt
