Dandy hat!
Fedoralover, that is a terrific hat! Just gorgeous.
I have a Stetson western hat from the 50's (confimed by sales slip) in mink, that is also labeled "Nutria Quality." The felt on mine is excellent - very soft in the crown, and a little stiffer in the brim. I don't know if the felt quality is due to the vintage or the nutria. The color and styling on the sweat band is identical to your hat, Fedoralover.
Like others, I am curious whether hats labeled thusly have any nutria content at all, or like some other Stetsons labeled "beaver" actually have none. I have asked around, and received varying, but unconvincing responses. Anybody know?
Nonetheless, I am very jealous of your hat Fedoralover, and hope you enjoy it for many years to come. How about a picture once you get a crease in it?
