You know what Mike1973, I think that cap looks pretty authentic! You wear it well and I like that tweed too!

Why thank you Sir ;)

Strange, I bought another Miller a couple of years afterwards, only difference it was in brown, but it just wont sit right at all. They look identical in shape, but the liner is a really cheap looking in the later one, and the sides drape around the the edges of the peak, very unusual. Maybe it's a Friday afternoon cap? It's so bad I've never worn it out of the house :eusa_doh:

I wear the grey one around town and to work when it gets colder, also when I'm working in the garage on my bus. It's the most versatile item of clothing I've got, new or vintage! Be interested in trying one in Linen for the summer, if B! Wear thinks they can copy yours. Difficult from photos but I reckon there is a market out there for a pukka old style cap.

City Sport Tweed Caps

Does anybody know if City Sport tweed caps are still available? The Hat Company doesn't appear to stock them any more.

Has anyone dealt with these guys?

http://www.hatpeople.com/tourshop/catalogue/cat.html

I like that they have different cuts in the newsboy, does anyone know what the B!wear is compareable too? (see below)

http://www.hatpeople.com/cuts/tourcut.html

I really like the B!wear caps, but I'm leary about this whole internet ordering thing because I'm afraid the cap might be too...."droopy"! I like how they fit some people (like the guy in the "full cut" picture) but I don't like the Extra full cut one.

Does anyone have some insight to all this?

I have a Hatpeople cap in linen. I like it very much. At first, I wasn't sure it was the look I wanted. I ordered mine in a full cut. I tell you now, though, that it is the first hat I reach for. It is good for almost any occasion, from work to church, and the natural linen color is a nice compliment for most of my wardrobe, such as it is.

Of course, I have no pictures of me in it.

As for the company itself, it will take a little bit of time to get the cap. One of my e-mails said up to six weeks (I think), but that was only if they found a quality control issue and had to remake the hat. I think I had mine in 2 weeks. It is nicely lined in cotton. The sweat band is a 7/8" wide ribbon sewn in which houses a 1/4" piece of elastic. The fit is adjustable to a degree by way of a safety pin at the back of the band. Mine fit right on the money "out of the box", though.

Again, sorry no pics.

Cabinetman can make any hat look good. A handsome chap!

My experience with Hatpeople hats has been the opposite. Mine is rarely worn. I like the fabric (wool herringbone tweed) but it won't lay forward so it looks like a pouffe' woolen cat on my head. Or, as more than one observer has noted, it looks like a Mao hat. Like I should be shouting communist slogans. The front doesn't snap to the bill so even if you get it all mooshed forward, it creeps back and you have a semi-pendulous bag at the back of your head. Think "Mars Attacks!"

Their customer service is great, price is fine, nice quality (though fabric sweatband), but I just don't like the cap.

Nice photo there Scott! I've always loved Clark in the 30's! He had a very classy style.

You know, I'd like to see some more photos that I haven't seen of B!wear caps... lets see different angels and colors... I really want to know more about them!

I too would like to see some previously unseen pics of some B!wear Caps. If any of you have a spare bit o' time it would be great to see what you have.

Thanks!

Just one final question before I order myself a couple of B!wear caps...

Do they come with or without a button on the brim to keep the material forward?

I suppose without one it would simply not stay forward? I wish they had magnets instead, that would be way cooler!

Ok, well, I'm gonna get me a few then. Thanks everyone!
