We're still ducking and dodging hurricanes here in eastern North Carolina. It's still not cool enough to wear long pants or lace-up shoes. Maybe sometime in the next couple of weeks we'll see a little "mullet shift" and I'll be digging in my closet for a hoodie and a pair of blue jeans.

We're at the time of year where it's Summer on the weekends on Autumn during the week, especially nights. It's in the 40s and 50s here in over night meaning you need a jacket in the mornings, but if you keep it on you'll die of heatstroke by the afternoon. The trees are already starting to turn, though, so that's putting me in a good mood.

And the over-marketing of Pumpkin Spice everything has started up again - sigh...
Don't get me started. A few years ago I was shopping at the local supermarket around this time of year, and I think the only products that didn't advertise "Now with Pumpkin Spice!" were the greeting cards. o_O

In this corner of the world we're getting only occasional brief hints at autumn-like weather. Last week we had a couple of rain showers that were so minor you could literally count the drops on your windshield/windscreen; the end result was higher and more uncomfortable humidity on top of high-80 to low-90 temps (°F). High temps for Thursday and Friday are predicted to be in the mid-70s, but after that they're predicting mid-80s until the end of the month at least.

But on the flip side, we've had a few cold morning where I've been out early enough to need a sweater - felt great :).

Exactly the same here. It has been possible to wear a sweater first thing in the morning and in the evenings too. Soon all day.

And the light is softer, gentler, ore beautiful now. Far from sighing, I feel liberated from the inferno of summer.

I started the heater in my living-room, today. And I can't tell you, how much I awaited this! Now, good old autumn/winter-cosiness comes to Germany, finally. :)

Nerving, mainly depressive german summer is over, luckily!

We had some genuinely fall-like weather earlier this week, with daytime highs in the low 60s as Hurricane Irma plowed through Florida, but it's back to summer again now. It'll be pushing 90 the next few days. I'm ready for a little cooler weather, myself, although I could do without the prolification of pumpkin spice and Christmas decorations.

Same here, Cuz. Seems every brewer in the country is compelled to offer up a seasonal pumpkin flavored or pumpkin spiced beer. If PBR offers one up I may snap.

We had some odd, prematurely cool weather - nights in the forties, days only in the sixties - back around the end of August and first week of September. But it warmed back up, and the last few days here have been the remnants of Hurricane Irma: seventies/low eighties, very humid with heavy fog and occasional thunderstorms. Not yet jacket weather.

It's been in the 60s during the day this week. Last weekend it was warm. I just stopped wearing sandals to work today. I'm back to actual shoes.

Here in Nebraska, September felt far more like fall than October has. We've had some temps in the high 80s that made things uncomfortable for awhile. Lots of rain the past two days, but it feels like a swamp outside.

I absolutely ADORE autumn so this has dampened my spirits a bit.

We are having an October heat wave. Good, because I despise the evil cold temperatures that are just weeks away. [emoji14]

Same here...with no end in sight. About the end of last month we had a few nights that dropped into the mid 60s, but even that was short lived. I was hoping all this rain that hurricane Nate dumped down here would cool things off, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
