Good question. I took a look at the high resolution version of the photo, and it appears to be a blurry area on the photo, probably caused by a piece of lint. We independently assessed each hat, rather than using the photos to determine whether the hat has moth nibbles.

So... I'm comfortable saying that this is not a moth nibble, but here is a close-up of the area, and you can judge for yourself.
