Hiring a crew of seasoned photographers!

When I get back to work I shall hire a crew of photographers from Life Magazine as in the old days when they would do a Life Special and have them photograph me from awakening in the morning until i put my head down at night. :D

If there is enough funds I shall hire a police escort to handle any possible problems. The question is shall I do it on a work day, a Saturday or Sunday.

Bystander: "Hey, Bud, what's goin' on?"

Photographer: "We're doing a Life Special!"

Security Officer: "Stand aside sir, please. or I'll have to Pepper Spray you!"

I'll let George Patton speak for me...

As the General said when asked by the visiting chaplain if it was true he read the Bible:

"Every ******* day."

If you don't wear a hat with a decent brim in the summer with the UV in Australia you would have to be crazy. We do have a saying regarding our beloved Akubra "the broader the brim the smaller the property".

I always wear one when I am out and about. Work or play. Not always a fedora, sometimes one of my outback hats. But I always have a lid on. My Wife can't imagine me going out without one. In fact once in a while she puts in a request as to what one I should wear. I don't have any pictures on computer though. Sorry, I am not one of the rich and famous, no paparazzi in my bushes taking candid shots of me. ;)

I literally have folks who don't recognize me without a hat, so yeah, I wear one every day. To work, to play, out on the town, on travels... It's usually a fedora, but I wear a newsie on ocasion, too.

This was a couple summers ago walking to the downtown library. The camera is an old Argus C3 and the hat a Dobbs Cross Country.

Add me to those who actually wear a fedora in public. When I do i imagine some other guys thinking, "Hmm. I ought to find one of those hats." I not only know that I look good- better than anyone with a ball cap- I feel good too! ;) :fedora:

Our analogue is "Big hat ... No cattle", but it is usually referring to a cowboy want-to-be rather than a fedora wearer.

Wonderful pictures. Now I know the name of the green hat that I have been looking for...a moss Playboy. At least now I will know to stay in the bidding next time a 7 1/8 comes up.

Thanks,

Robert

This is too funny... and sort of strangely true. I have noticed more than once people on the train I ride into Seattle snapping pictures of me with their cell phones. I figure they use the pictures to prove to friends/family/etc that someone on the train really does look like he stepped right out of the 40's! :)

You see that's the kind of problem I have. Everywhere I go there is someone being amused with my hat.
Why is it so wrong to wear a fedora and so right to wear baseball hat?

I don't think the question is daft by any means. When I started wearing a hat, I had the same question (but never voiced it).

I wear a hat nearly every day. Every so often I'll venture out without my headgear, just to show the world I still have a head of hair. I am with the rest of the board here in that I don't have a team of photographers trailing me, but every so often I appear in a few shots. (I'm usually the photographer, so I appear much less frequently than my wife)

I've been wearing a hat almost daily for about a year and a half now. I almost never, ever get any negative comments or looks. Usually it is the opposite! A well made hat that suits your face can create a striking look.
