No tags under the sweat, maybe this hat had a serious rehab at some point?


Came in a cool box but I'm not sure it's original to the hat as box has stars in logo and hat has leafs everywhere

Anything printed on the back of the sweat? Refurbs have a stamp sometimes...

Glad you had me look! The price tag was on the back of the size tag! The number on the back of the sweat is the only other thing inside.

It's a very interesting color. The seller listed it a green, and the lighting was a little yellowed so it was hard to tell. It's definitely got some gray-green tones, but looks almost Caribou-ish.



Darn thing's light as a hummingbird's breath. I'll weigh it tomorrow at the office on the postal scale. But man, it's like having nothing on my head almost.



I have three other vintage Stetsons, but this is the oldest. As everybody talks about, light, dense, malleable. This is fantastic piece of work.

Any help on narrowing down the date?

I'll guess early to mid 50s based on the tags, the sweat, and what looks like the leaf in the crest ... can't really see the size tag in your pics but it looks to be consistent with early to mid 50s as well

+3 or something, Fruno! Very nice and I agree with Moon's assessment, early 50's. In Borsalino terms that color would be called "Bismuto". Not sure what Stetson called it, they had so many color variations and names
