Spray a good amount of deodorant on a paper towel and then use it to clean off the marker, Randy. I never expected it, but it works like a charm.

Thanks Bob, I actually was looking for that thread....will do some reading when I get a chance. Deciding if it is worth taking the time to take a look at the hat since all the info I have is the 2 pics and have no idea of the sizing!

Not a lot to go off of, but that looks like a more modern No. 1 Quality swear based off the thickness of the felt and the color/texture of the leather.

Texture, width, and logo impression point to one from the mid to late 60's......they did some of those ribbon styles then too....I think I even have one listed just like it in my one of my catalog postings....

There is a hat on ebay that measures ~ 7 5/8 inches in length of interior band. Does anyone know what size that is, and can it be stretched to fit my head? Thanks in advance.

That would be a big stretch. You and I are the same size. Normally my hats are ~8" x ~6 1/4".

Hey Bill, thanks for the quick response. There is an awesome hat on ebay and the seller does not know anything about it. I think it may be either a 7 or 7 1/8 judging by the measurements that they gave. Am so tempted to get it so cheaply and try to stretch it. Dont want to ruin the leather band if I overstretch but it is such an opportunity!

If it is a really good deal I usually take the chance. But it has to be a REALLY GOOD deal. If it doesn't work out I list it in the Fedora Lounge classifieds and move it on. That's the reason it has to be a good deal - so I'm not out anything. It also lets my wife see me selling hats and therefore reducing my overall count. It's a fantastic thing for her to see me selling hats even though it is only because it doesn't fit. That's the silver lining thing you hear people talk about.

I think it's a size 7 based on the measurements and the (L + W)/2 calculation. Have you stretched a hat from 7 to 71/8- 7 1/4 before with any luck?
