It's like back in the day of trying to watch porn on 56K with dialup.

I preferred the quality viewing on non-subscribed cable...

Question: I live in/around the Los Angeles area.....So I guess this question is aimed at members living in or around the LA, SFV, OC areas......Can anyone recommend a hat repair shop in the area?

Specifically I am looking for someone expereienced in replacing a liner and re-attaching/sewing a sweat band.

Since no one responded, I thought I'd mention Baron hats, they have a website, though I've heard nothing good about them on the FL. Additionally, the closest I've been to LA is lower Alabama, so, I've no experience whatsoever with any hatters in your area, and if there were any, they would've come up here.

However, I have some experience with https://www.etsy.com/shop/finevintagefedoras. He has done cleaning, blocking and sweat replacements for me and others here, and does a fine job. Rates are reasonable and turn around time is good. It does require shipping to WI but that's probably not much more time and money than driving across LA. I'll be happy to send you pics of his work if you like. I hope this helps you.

Thank you Bamabootd...And you might be right about the "shipping time" and driving across LA...
I have viewed that site (baron), and over the past two weeks I have emailed them three times with the same inquiry, and have yet to get a response...Plus they are located in the San Fernando Valley, (also known as the land of the living-entitled-narccisstic-dead of the worst of what Hollyweird once called "home") ! So I am definitely open to others

I have used finevintagefedoras and can also attest to the quality of his work. You cannot go wrong with his work.

There are professional wholesale felt suppliers like FEPSA in Portugal, Tonak in the Czech Republic and Winchester Hat Corporation in TN, USA. Then there are some hobby suppliers on the web like Judith M and Leko (Hatsupply).

Hello folks, I'm new to vintage hats am in need of some information and advice . Found a Resistol among some of my dad's things the other day. The inside label names it the Seminar, it's color as jade/black, and it's size as 7 1/8". I know nothing about dating hats yet, but I did find a clue to it's age on the former owner's business card I found inside the band in the formorning of an old phone number. I would appreciate if anyone could provide any info regarding the age of the hat etc.; the band also has Harvey Bros. on it if that helps. I would also appreciate any recommendations regarding where to send it for some TLC. The hat needs reshaping and cleaning along with fixing a tear in the ribbon. Sadly, I can't post pics at this time; just wanted to post before I forgot.
Regards,
Jesse
