I bet somebody will know about Churchill Hats sold at Neiman Marcus . On you size issues buying Hats , find the dimensions inside the sweat of a Hat that fits you , front to back and side to side . I'm a 7 3/8 and my perfect fit is 8.25" X 6.5" . Add those measurements together and divide by 2 (8.25+6.5=14.75 divide by 2= 7.375[7 3/8]) that will give you the correct size of the Hat no matter what size you're told it is , you'll know .

My last Churchill purchase was a 2:00 a.m. find on eBay for a very very low buy it now price. The seller misread the label under the sweat and listed the 7 3/8 hat as a 7 3/4. If I would have hesitated to ask the seller a question I would have missed out as someone else surely would have snatched it up. Just the perils of buying vintage over the internet. This is all just a long way around to tell you that I still have a 7 3/8 "Beaver 50" Churchill that needs a home. I sent it to a fellow Lounger who's a 7 3/8 but it was too small for him and he returned it to me (he's a 7 3/8 Long oval or 7 1/2). If you're interested let me know and I'll PM you with photos and dimensions.

@alanfgag had a Neiman Churchill 100 thin ribbon a few years ago. It was a STUNNER.

New guy here. I had always thought I was a 7 3/8 picked up a very nice late 60's resistol fedora on ebay and it was really tight. Decided I wanted a new hat and just ordered a stetson temple from amazon and ordered a 7 1/2 based on the fit of the resistol. The temple is Kind of loose I can get a finger in the front with it on if I push. It touches comfortably front and rear but has room on the sides. Will it shrink as I wear it or should I return for a 7 3/8 or just put some of the thin blue foam that was in the box as packing behind the sweat band? is there a way to shrink it quickly?

I just added about 6" of the thin foam on each side and it feels really good.

opinions?

Chances are the 60s Resistol hatband has shrunk. After you wear it a couple of times it will stretch out. I would get a smaller size Temple if it were me.
