Hold the hat from the back and apply the steam to the outside front area. Some guys just run their hats under the shower. I use distilled or filtered water and boil the water on the stove top.... place a lid over 2/3 of the pot and then hang the hat over the steam. Works like a charm.

One of the UK's greatest inventions and contribution to hat wearers was the electric kettle. A little clean water and just keep flicking the switch for as much steam as you need.

Dear friends,
I'm new here & not very tech savvy, I hardly know how to use a forum or this text box! Please forgive my ignorance. I've been collecting fedoras for a while; have a Stetson Whippet, An Adam's Stetson Replica, a beautiful Vintage "Banby" that is unreal, a Borsalino Alessandria in Brown, A vintage Stetson Deluxe Open Road in Brown & several others. However I recently managed to acquire on eBay, a Stetson Stratoliner... at the following link:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vtg-Mens-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Please advise! Is it legit, does it look like it's in decent condition, I can't quite tell if the felt looks really good, if I'm falling for illusion of my laptop screen, & lastly what exactly colour it is? I'm hoping its silver belly-esque, rather than a gold/brown tan type hue. Your time n help is appreciated man!

I've been looking at a few threads before I registered getting information, and I appreciate those who are knowledgeable and providing their input. I've been wearing a baseball hat for years (classy, I know), but decided I'd like to have something nicer. I'm a pharmacist and I work at a hospital with a business casual dress code and would like something nicer than a baseball hat. Plus, the occasional time I do dress up in a suit, I miss wearing my hat. I thought for my first hat, since it's summer, I'd look into getting a Panama hat in a fedora. I didn't know if anybody has had any experience with DelMonico. I was looking at https://www.delmonicohatter.com/Panama-Hats/Bahia44E.htm and wanted everybody's thoughts. It's made by Tesi for DelMonico. I don't mind paying for a quality hat, but since this would be my first, I didn't want to put down that kind of money and get a poor quality hat that's not worth the money. Or, if anybody has any other ideas, I appreciate the input! Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi. Welcome. Tesi is a quality hat. Tesi made and branded for Delmonico represent good value. Delmonico is a reputable Hat shop. My favorite Tesi branded for Delmonico. Extra Fino Cuenca.

Just thought, I've bought a new felt hat but the courier is expected to deliver almost a week from last Saturday. All in Los Angeles area not sure why it'll take that long. But weather is in 90s low. Would keeping a felt hat in back of a truck in higher temp make slight shrinkage to the hat?
