Hey, I hope this isn't a misuse of the simple questions thread, but I'd appreciate honest feedback on my listing in the classifieds. I don't know much at all about hats and have probably horribly mis-ID'd them and left out crucial details, but I'm willing to learn! Also, good sources/styles of hats for a 7 7/8-8 tall and narrow head?

hi - I'm looking for a Christys' foldaway fedora in gray (7-1/8). Does anybody know if they stopped making these? I don't see them on Christys' site. I only see them in black or burma on other sites. Seasonal? I had a gray hat that looked like that many years ago and left it in a casino. I'd like to replace it!

thx,
rob

allright thanks! i am looking for something like the campdraft but i need it to go nicely with a light blue trench coat someone gave me so basically its about colloring, will a grey glen or a moon stone work? or should i go for more of a blueish hue? if so is there a hat that anyone thinks will work better than the campdraft? basically im looking for efficancy in heavy rain but still want it to look nice.

cheers,
daniel

How about the the Akubra Squatter in Steel Grey? I've got one sitting in a box, but my wife won't let me open it until the 25th ;)

Or the Federation in Carbon Grey?

Both are awesome but the moonstone Federation fits more with me and to my opinion will look better with my coat so I think I'll go with that, although if I had an option to go with a brighter color squatter I may have gone with that. well anyway I really appreciate your help guys and of course if there are any other suggestions Ill gladly look into them but for now I think the Federation 4 in moonstone will be my pick.

cheers!

I'm not getting my email notifications of posts to my subscription list any more. This just started a few days ago. Is anybody else having this problem?

Sorry about posting this here but I didn't know where else to post it. Thanks.

Rusty,

My subscription list and email was still accurate so I tried changing my email to another address of mine. That seems to have corrected the problem. I'm now receiving notifications again.

Hi Guys new to the lounge- very informative. I went through the Lee area and I have a question about a Lee hat I acquired? It has a dark burgundy liner marked water bloc, DuPont, stingy brim nice pinch front.it says factory creased also on sweat stamped double brim?? Upon turning out sweat is written 1.95 what era was a hat sold for $1.95? Pretty cool hat wide ribbon back bow. As soon as I figure out photo bucket I'll post a pic.
Thanks Mr.Astor also thanks mikepenns for the greeting awhile back

Hello everybody!:D
I am new around here, and I have a burning curiosity about my new hat.I love hats but just recently I started to be much interested into old hats, full of history..vintage hats. After i purchased this hat I 've googled it and found nothing.I dont know anything about this hat, about the shape, the period, the name on the label ,,Lore Faust"...i have not found anything about this name. The interesting thing is that the inside of the hat has all over the logo of Yves Saint Laurent.
Please I could really use some hints some facts about this hat.Right now it's like I dont even know my hat
PS:excuse my english skills, it is not my first language.:D

It's been quite some time since I've been on here. It's good to be back!

I have a question regarding making one's own hat liners. I have a cheap, simple, gray ascot cap. It was very inexpensive and is basically just shaped felt with no liner. I'd like to make a liner for it, maybe add a little insulation for the wintertime, and put in a new band. Does anyone have any tips, links, etc. that would help me learn how to make a liner for this hat? I'm thinking of using polar fleece, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks! :)

I am thinking of wearing a brimless cap out in public, but I can't think of a style of cap that would look decent or be appropriate for outside wear.
I was maybe thinking of a smoking cap, but I don't know how they would be out in public. Any advice?
