I'm saying you don't need a heavy insulated liner for a thick jacket. However you probably want (even if uninsulated) a somewhat substantial one because I would think you'd feel all the seams pressing against you through a very thin liner. Something like the cotton drill Schott uses in Perfecto sleeves would work for the full body.

I just mentioned the OEM repairs department because they're very good and reasonably priced. They do lining replacements pretty often including replacing the quilted lining for cotton on fairly new jackets for people who live in hot states.
Thanks, will reach out to Jerri @ Schott. She has been very helpful in the past.

Anyone ever sourced some Jungle Cloth fabric? Like the kind used on N1 deck jackets, I've found a few places with regular bedford cord but usually pretty light.

Has anyone who's owned both the Aero Ridley/slim-fit Bike/Vincent and LW J-24 found that the same tagged size works for both?

i will assume you’re refering to the construction and not the actual shape.

unibody / splay / Cossack / wing collar is what I call these. Majority of the jackets on market now use a “set in” collar construction. The biggest difference is when you unzip these unibody collar jackets the collar naturally falls bends outwards, without using clips and water to train them.

There are many different ways of achieving this. The one shown in your photo is closest to the original Cossack method. Then it some how evolved into the one I posted. Then it’s like the hybrid technique that Cal and most CHP do now.

I consider this detail fancier stuff because no clips and training. Just naturally spreads. No lube or force needed…

I'm actually curious about the shape. I haven't seen many collars like this. Is this a mandarin collar? It's taller than a cafe collar and doesn't have any tabs or closure. Its a clean and interesting look.

It’s a mandarin or Nehru collar, depends whos answering, east or south Asian.
a cafe racer will have a band collar, and it origins from the West.
the difference is that with band collar you can close, no gap. mandarin / Nehru collar don’t overlap to close and there’s always a gap.
the vintage American Cossack collar also overlaps with the slightly wider curve.

I can see the benefit of using the unibody mandarin/nehru design, but I would add a throat latch so it can also block the wind like the band collar.

A question about ordering directly from Aero:

I put a deposit down a few weeks ago and never got a confirmation email. I see that the order is in their system when I log into their web site. When can I expect to hear anything from them? I emailed them about making a change to my order and never heard back.

Thanks!

I think they're on their Christmas holidays. Normally someone will get in touch with you when it's your jacket's turn. Before the production process starts, the measurements and details are clarified. This can take a few weeks.

My padded Al's has lodged the spike of a former pin badge in the lapel. The jacket came to me like that, in the auction it was already without ornaments, but this spike bothers me a lot, especially when I wear the neck up, 'cause if I'm not careful, I prick myself with it. Since almost the first day I have tried to remove it with pliers and stretching, but from what I understand, there must be a wider part inside that doesn't come out. So, I've tried pushing it in, but that supposed wide part must be trapped so that if I don't break the leather, it won't come out.

Any ideas? Has anyone battled with lodged pins like this? Thank you!
